I'm usually a disc main however switch to holy at end of s3 and I love it! I actually play lightweaver still in the higher keys as you've just got endless juice for fh, heal and serenity. Its insanely powerful. Juiced Heals from lightweaver procs feel like empowered flash heals at a 1 second cast with 35% - 40% haste so its a nutty build. I feel like the extra gcd for word does work as well in some weeks when you need to be into your serenity, fh, fh, hea,l heal serenity rotation. Its like having 100 lay on hands at your disposal. And the dmg of holy priest is second to none. Sometimes I'm ending packs on 400k dps.

You can also play around with Divine Word and Apotheosis and ditch out some crazy damage (for healer standards) if you use it with Chastise.

Now this is a true guide. Well done. I think every guide should at least have a brief demonstration of the rotation in a dungeon, and a few situational things. After all, it's a "guide" on how to play. And sadly correct talent builds, and explaining things alone aren't enough. Which is why people keep asking for help. THIS is what needs to be in a guide.

@@Bowserthehealer first time I went holy properly was last two seasons of shadowlands. Disc was solid in comparison but I still wanted to play it ha. My mate kept making sure I didn’t respec disc before the key timer haha. Holy was and is now pew pew though.

Hey! First of all, good video! I really appreciate watching it and as a fellow holy priest main, I have a few questions and comments for you (and I would be really happy to discuss it.) : (a bit of context) I have the same stats for the raid and m+ (40% Crit, 20ish% haste, 40 mastery and 18~%versatility), I know that's not common as in m+, you tend to prioritize haste over the rest; and here I am. I'd appreciate if you could share yours. 1) As you said, renew cost a lot mana and should never ever be used in combat; only when transitioning from pack to pack. Great emphasize on that part. (though you still casted it on the first pull of the RLP, which I think is a mistake tbh) 1.5) Same comment as above, but for Power Word: Shield. Holy isn't disc; it's a waste of GcD and mana. 2) I belive there was a time when the tier set bonuses made us use Heal more often than flash heal (Shadowland maybe?). Outside of that, with the how bursty the keys have become over this expansion, using heal is a big no. It is true however that it's move mana efficient than Flash Heal, and you pointed it you in the video. But you do not have the luxury, even in a 5-men group environment (let alone pug), to take you time and cast a Heal on someone. If you have this kind of window, just DoT or dps (I'll follow on that in point 3.). 3) Regarding mana problem, outside of the third boss of HoI, I rarely ever need to drink. Efficient usage of mana potion and Symbol of Hope should cover most of the encounters.Thus the mana management that come from the usage of Heal does not feel as much of an obligation. 4) Cooldowns are meant to be used, and sometimes when people don't use them, death is on them. THANK YOU! Finally, someone is saying it .. And most importantly, don't forget to heal yourself and use your own cd 5) Regarding the usage of Divine Word: DPS -> Chastise. Heal -> Serenity. With the output of Sanctify, do not ever use it. Finally, for anyone who took the time to read this message: I'm sorry I am not a native english speaker, I tried to correct some mistakes along the way. I try everyday to improve my gameplay, and I'll appreciate any discussion regarding the things I pointed out. Again, great video for people who started healing with HP to learn from. Keep up the good content :)

Sorry, this one assumes you know but I got you! Fade can be talented into a 10% DR and its up all the damn time lol, flash heal/heal can be talented to also provide 10% (and with the talent where you heal a bit when you flash heal or heal someone) will always give you 10% DR as if you flash healed or healed yourself. Desperate prayer gives you a fat chunk of bonus health and can be talented to give more. *and technically power word shield but I use that as my move speed button but thats cursed dont do it*

I’m sure this is a stupid question, but what do you mean about casting Shadow Word: Pain on multiple targets “until the pull starts.” Casting this will pull the mobs. Do you just mean after the tank has pulled and you are still running up to cast it on several mobs?

Yeah, once the tank has initial threat pain does so little that it will let you ramp some damage as you walk in. But only SW Pain them for the tank if they want you to pull for them lol. All "while the tank is pulling" is usually because tank has agro. Otherwise its prayer of mending and renew etc.

Hey , love your guides. Quick question. As a newer player I'm confused as to how to gear. Is tier set best for m+ or go for pieces with Int and secondary stats (higher ilvl) ? What should I aim for.

Tier set is super important. But M+ can drop pieces that can be catalyzed in the creation catalyst. To which I know you can wow head search for that and find out all about it! But M+ is easy gearing, dont need to raid to get tier but LFR and normal are more chances are faster tier!

Divine Word most of the time! If you get a killer group you can do damage, or easy heal things! If its a carry, divine word is up every minute. Thats huge to just toss in with a holy word when needed!

I keep crutching to more instants with CoH and PoH even in lower keys because people take too much damage and Lightweaver/Lightwell (Ha). I lothe on use CDs with short CDs. For the first time in 20+ years I've removed Renew from my bars....talented from PoH. Now I'm second guessing that.

DPS as a healer is totally pointless and more often than not leads you to missheal or take unnecessary damage because you're not focusing on the environment. Blowing Chastise on DPS is like a drop in the ocean, its far better kept for an interrupt. If you get downtime and want something to do, just Holy Nova.

I don’t know… I must be doing something wrong but holy priest is the only healer (except resto shaman as I don’t have it) to have mana issues with. I have low ilvl yet and max mythic I can do with my friends is +7 so far but nevertheless with holy priest I can’t keep mana like with others.

Yes mana is a problem but here are a few tips I have learned over time remember your symbol of hope and shadowfiend if you can keep them around cooldown. Work with your kit not against it don't spam flash heal if you got a word also I never press renew in itself(don't even have it keybinded^^') I use words to spread them . If you wanna heal the group flashheal/heal with a different target each time. Remind your people that defensives are a thing and they should be pressed before hand not after the dmg is done. Interrupt with chastise/fear if you can :D

@@GURKS35 not at all! I have some still relevant videos from Season 3 on it, the basic rotation isn't hard. Then its about flow and learning how to crank the fistweaving when you need it!

@@GURKS35 No I wouldn't call it difficult. It may take some time to learn what does what and why. But once you've learned the spells and passives that go into it, it is quite alright and becomes a game of knowing when you can fistweave and when to use CDs and your direct heals. Sometimes you have to adapt on the fly. But that is the fun of it. Keeping your renewing mist on all party members,throwing down a jadefire and executing perfect dps rotations while adapting the rotation based on your knowledge of the passives and your applying of the hots is really satisfying. Seeing and hearing 5 blackout kicks go out at once, your rising sun kick procs because of it and seeing your partys health bar go up as a result of your melee uptime is oh so satisfying.
