Hi Lily! I absolutely love your method of altering the Little Golden Books! Saving the spine, hooked me to your channel! One thing that I do is that I add an ‘extension’ to the front and back covers so that I won’t have to fold or cut the pages. So far, it’s worked out for me. Thanks for all your amazing videos!

That is such a great idea! Thank you for sharing your technique. 😊

How do you extend the covers
@DaisyLuvsCrafts6 күн бұрын
@@JanetKempfIt’s a bit hard to explain, but I’ll try…I cut 2 pieces of chipboard (about 1 1/2” wide and 8” long). I then cover them with cardstock that complements the LGB and I use Power Tac glue to adhere on the inside edge (about 5/8” in) of the front and back covers. This way you’ve technically added 7/8” to the front and back covers to accommodate the size of the pages.

We welcomed our first grandbaby in September, and I found 3 Little Golden Books at a thrift shop: new baby, Christmas, and tea party. I am looking forward to making some memories with her and these books! Thank you for these wonderful instructions!

Amazing work! Beautifully done! I’ve been rescuing damaged little golden books from antique malls and thrift stores! I’ve only made one into a junk journal, but will be doing so many more in 2025! Love your process! I also preserved the golden spine of the one I did! It’s a treasure to keep! ❤

I so enjoy your videos and your joyful presentation! My older sister was also in kindergarten in 1973 and was forced to be right handed though she was clearly a lefty. By the time I went through school six years later, I guess the tide had changed. Thank you for your tutorial!

❤ Thank you! I’m making a Taylor Swift golden book journal. (My first golden book) Here’s an amateur tip with the staples- I cut one end of staple and with pliers slide the whole staple out. It worked well and did not damage the spine 👍🏼

I found your channel because I just made my December Daily out of this book. Mine is dated 1964. I use binder rings to put my books together. That way I can add or subtract pages as I go. I have made about a dozen of these.

This was great! Questions: is there a reason not to cut the book pages on the interior edge? There was almost a half inch of blank space there from the old binding so you would lose less design on the page. I was trying to think if there is a reason not to cut from the inside. Hope this makes sense.
@LilianGuerrero4 күн бұрын
Thank you for being here and watching my video. I'm so glad to know my video inspired you to think of other great options. And Yes! Of course you can cut from the inside. I don't because the pages are already folded but there are several other ways to avoid cutting the pages as well. I may demonstrate in a future video. That was a great question. Thank you!
@PamBarnhill4 күн бұрын
@@LilianGuerreroyes after I posted the question I figured it out - the fold! 😂 Thanks. It was fun to watch. I picked up a book at a thrift store yesterday so I am going to give it a go.

Hi Lily. I don’t think the book is as old as you think because there is a bar code.
@LilianGuerrero6 күн бұрын
Yes, you are correct. It's vintage but It's copyright 1964 and the twelfth reprint in 1981. ;)
