This works on the older model door openers to pair to new vehicles with new version homelink. I looked all over youtube and called two overhead door locations, they all forgot the first step of pairing the remote first then using the learn button on the back of the opener. Follow this exactly, it works perfectly. Thanks!!

Have a Legacy 850 S/N begins with 17 and in order to put the control unit into the purple mode I had to press and hold the program button until it turned blue, then release it after the 2nd blue light came on, then press it again for 1 second; THEN the long purple light came on! What a nut roll.

This video worked great for me! Seemed like a lot to do but it was pretty easy. I did however added an additional step press and hold 1&3 on my cars homelink to reset/clear any pre-programmed signals on the car. Then went on to Hold garage clicker and home link button nearby till both status light changes (select whichever button you want, I did 1) Walk up to garage opener, press and hold Program/Set button till lights kick on, walk back to car click homelink button 1 and then wait and click homelink button 1 again and it worked!!! Thank you

I followed this to the T...but it won't work. When I press the learn button on the opener, the blue circle comes on but it won't go to the purple bar unless I press it again. So frustrated...looks so easy and I followed exactly

Press and hold til the purple light comes on. Or just hold it for an extra 10 second if the purple dont come on. I was like u, tried and it worked

This is a flawless and accurate instruction that worked perfectly the first time I tried it. I had struggled with the carmaker's instructions which were close, but utterly useless in synching the in-car garage door opener to my garage door. Great job Homelink!

This worked like a charm takes one minute to program a new car button with this method. Materials: Original Overhead door remote, and a homelink on your car, or other remote. Maybe a ladder or a tall family member. I just programmed one car and one remote, two buttons each, and no casualties. Very little swearing reqired. To program my homelink car buttons to my overhead door. Model 7030. The part I would add: be sure to "clear" your new car* of any preexisting code by holding down both outside buttons until the flash changes. Now they are empty. Then using the hand held remote (hopefully you still have one) button, hold down until red and green both light up. Then hold down the car homelink until it changes flash . On the garage door motor, hold down the square for a few seconds it will light up blue, or the light next to it will be blue. Mine then turned purple. Get back in car and push the homelink you just programmed on the car once, twice, and hold the third time. The garage door should move if you're near it. (not under it). I had to push my car button four times and then it activated, not sure what that was about. But above all, have fun, because that is what matters most.

It took me longer to unlock my truck than it did to program. I skipped step 1 (press and hold remote button) and went straight to(the head unit blue/purple lights and 3 presses of the home link). This method may alleviate some frustration, head unit legacy 920 w/WiFi, vehicle 2019 Nissan Titan.

This does help, but specifically for my 2019 Mercedes, both this and the Mercedes manual instructions do not work - so this may help you. This says once you are back in your car, press homelink once and then twice. Didn't work for me. The Mercedes manual says to push the button repeatedly until the door opens or closes. This didn't work for me. HOWEVER: After the Overhead Door is in program mode, return to your car and hold down the homelink button at least 3 seconds and stop. Do this until the door opens. One second is too short and 10 seconds will reprogram - you have to find a middle ground.

I have tried everything possible and the red led does not light up with the green led. It's either red or green. I have been trying for about 2 hours to get it to work with my 2006 Dodge Dakota Quad cab and it will not. I have a Overhead Odyssey 1000. PLEASE HELP. PLEASE?

This video is worthless to me. I've tried multiple times to program my BMW homelink to my Overhead Door Odyssey 100 Model 7030 completely unsuccessful. I get both red and green flashing lights but while holding down the homelink button the LED never changes flashing mode. I've programmed my BMW to several other openers without issue until now. What A POS!

@@LenrottA7 hold the single button and the car button down til the car button light starts flashing. The press the program button on the garage door opener til you see the blue light. Then press and hold the car button til the garage door moves.
