Oh wow this is beautiful. Never thought that a C2C could be so beautifully rendered in this way. C2C was my first time crochet when my mother taught me to do a blanket. I had never crochet before that and from there I tried to learn from magazines of patterns that I liked. My mother never learned how to read patterns, it was taught by her mother. So she was impressed that I was able to learn just by looking at pictures in the back of the magazines that showed the crochet stitches.

This stitch is one of the first slightly more complicated stitches a friend taught me when I wanted to make a baby blanket for a new grandma. It made it so fun and easy once I got the hang of it. I love this shawl pattern and can’t wait to learn how to do the lacy sections.

Absolutely a lovely shawl! I can see myself wearing it on vacation with my husband, walking barefoot along the beach after dinner under the moonlight with the ocean breeze in the air. On another note, I learned the corner to corner pattern years ago, and made stadium blankets for my kids and niece using their school colors. I even donated a stadium blanket in school colors for the band raffle when my kids were in high school. The winner was much appreciative! Adding the lacey section makes it just so next level elegant and the added use of a larger hook to open up the stitches more...I can't think of a better warm weather elegant look. To do piece for myself list item #1 has just been found. 🙂

Love the design, it looks beautiful! I've never done the corner to corner stitch before, but it seems fairly ok to do.
