I find it hard to pick a favourite season. Each one brings something different to be thankful for and to find happiness in. Winter is a time for rest and regeneration after a long year and before the new one begins. Spring brings hope and growth and new beginnings. Summer sunshine makes my heart feel as large and full as the sun and Autumn brings the bountiful harvest and begins the wind down into winter again. I actually really love winter. I don't know a lot of people who love winter, but something about the quiet, cold mornings, being bundled up and sipping hot cocoa, and watching the world take a bit of a nap to have the energy to jump into spring also recharges me. What a gorgeous shawl pattern! I love that it’s worked from one side to the other so that it grows as you go, but then reached that point where it starts to shrink again. I think something I struggle with when making shawls is that they often just grow, so by the end each row takes me much much longer and sometimes my attention struggles to get through that. I’m another autumn lover, when I was a teen it was because of the clothes/accessories. Scarves, boots, a warm coffee cup in my hand and the crisp air. Nowadays I love it for some of the same reasons, but I have the added perk of watching the trees in my little woods change colors, taking my son to the pumpkin patch, baking goodies with apples from our trees and cranberries, and I still love those crisp autumn mornings with a warm mug in my hand. I love how every season has something unique to offer and the cycle of death and rebirth is a beautiful thing to observe.

Autumn is to me a delightful experience as it involves engaging with the crisp air carrying a fresh, invigorating scent. The season is filled with the warm smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, relating to the pumpkin spice and apple cider. I'm a solitary person so winter is my season and I'm a February baby. I used to make igloos with my dad when I was a child in Pennsylvania and we would make all these tunnels too to connect the igloos. Winter is a magical season. :)

I suffer intractable migraine meaning my attack is 24/7/365 and has been for 7y10m. He has been my rock and pushed me to learn crochet in April 2023 and I am so glad he did as it has been an amazing distraction technique and helps me cope with being bedbound

As someone who gets migraines as well (not intractable) I can imagine how awful that must feel constantly. I’m glad you found someone who supports you and cares for you and who helped you find a hobby that helps as well. My husband also encouraged me to learn crochet (I was always collecting yarn at thrift stores to make with a knitting loom, so one day he bought me a crochet hook because he thought I might enjoy it). I have Major Depression and when I was going through one of the worst bouts of my adult life, I decided to go for it and taught myself in a weekend back in 2021. Almost exactly 3 years later and my mental health has significantly improved and I’m almost constantly creating through crochet and now knitting as well. I’m sending out as much positive energy as I have that one day you and your doctors can find a better long term solution for your migraines and you’ll be able to thrive and not simply have to cope. 🩵

@@ConstantlyEvolvingDoor having someone who actively supports and encourages me has really helped me. Being in the uk I am yet to find a second hand or charity shop that has yarn. It is amazing what starting this craft has brought me. I am in several Facebook groups and discord communities for crochet and have had so much support both learning the craft and having a safe place to vent. I am so glad it has helped your depression. One of my first big projects was a shawl I did for myself I ended up making a second that was auctioned for charity. I have done a couple of amigurumi but shawls and blankets are what I get the most joy from.

My favorite season is spring. After the time of being cooped up inside. After the cold dreary days and long nights, after the look of death and desolation on the trees and grass comes the warmth of the sun with the promise of brighter days, life, and the joy of rebirth. The days get longer, the air warmer, buds and blossoms emerge on the formerly dead looking branches showing the dormant life beneath. Flowers bloom, the Bradford pears, the red buds, maples, the tulip poplars, and dogwoods, just to name a few. The grass springs alive rejoicing in the warmth of the sun, and the dandelions raise their bright heads once again. Life has started anew! Yes, spring is my favorite time of year.

My favourite season is Spring. I love the fresh light green color of the oak trees and the grape vines. I Iike going outside and smelling the damp air in the morning. The grasses come back into our meadow and the tenders shoots are fun to watch and they get taller and a richer green. Spring now means we can further the garden ❤ But we will be planting trees and Bertie bushes, so quite a magnificent autumn this year 😊 I would love a complicated crochet pattern every once in a while, one for the experienced crocheter 😊
