when i was a kid, my best friend and i would chase/follow each other around our neighborhood on our bikes. Here, you and your buddies do the same, but in the air...what a dream it must be to be able to do such an amazing thing..you're livin life buddy. nice video

@easygtr - thanks for your input - the brief for this contest stated to tell about your entire day, not just one piece of it, or about one of your hobbies, that's why everything else is included. I think the biggest reason was I used a Canon camera for a Nikon contest, even though they said you could use any camera, but then they asked you which camera you used when you entered.

You ever make it out to Utah? Come try the Point of the Mountain in Draper, just barely South of the Salt Lake City Airport...if you arrive in Salt Lake and just head south on the freeway, during the morning or afternoon...there is absolutely no way you can miss it!

I've had this curiosity about hanggliding for about 2 years now, and this video really was a deal breaker to me; I am definitely going to own a hanglider in the future. I think your video is more informative than artistic but still, it inspired me, so keep em coming!

I reserved the two person tug and had my buddy, who was the cameraman that day, sit in the font of the tug instead of the back, which is where the passenger would normally sit. This way there wasn't much obstructing his view They said use any kind of camera, but there was a required space in the submitting form for what camera you used, so I wish they would have just been honest from the beginning and said, only shoot with Nikon if that's what they meant, I'll be surprised if a non-Nikon wins

@CopperheadTM I was at around maybe 5,000', but on a good thermaling day we can get to 8,000' or more at this flying site. Thanks for your subscription too. -Lucas

Grate video skills: I like how you tell a story. In my opinion you could also improve the storyline by introducing the arena inwhich you are going to fly: a time lapse might do the trick. Go on and nice flight!

It is a beautiful short about what fills your life. Not about a day in your life. I guess that is why you didn't make it to the top 50's. At 0:20 you got me hooked on the story. At 0:45 you cut to the bone regarding why to fly hangglider. And ramble on. There is a lot of constructive criticism in the comments. Great video.

Ohhh, yea on the computer screen. I thought meant did i use AE to do the effect at 33-35, yea I was working on another video in AE in that clip between 33-35

@alta8bird - Well if u put it this way i take back what i said earlier and add a new thing and its about the name of the video. It sure can mean many things like "overcoming your fears" but to me it just gave the image of a hang gliding sport video. Taking a video with a Canon and send it to a Nikon festival didn't help you at all :) What were you thinking lol Ofcorse i'm joking. I'm to far away but next time Nikon festival is around i can give you my D90 :) and a special stand im building :)

Let's see... I believe the reason you couldn't make it to top 50 is... 1st - You needed more dramatic voice for this video. 2nd - A little more waiting and just staring at the sky at take off. 3d - No friends was needed to be showing in this video and ofcorse not so much of your girlfriend, no offense but its somehow a lonely sport and its about you and only you. Up there it is you and your glider. I loved the video but I do know what critics look for in this festivals. Peace bro and keep flying

It's a well made video, but honestly it just comes off as very egotistical. It would be a much better video if it lacked the bragging subtext and the unnecessary shots of of your girlfriend that seem to have been added merely for the purpose of showing her off rather than adding any cinematic content.
