People are complaining about the price not realizing most places have them at $1000 and that’s just the electronic steps Plus you are getting rock sliders as well as electronic side steps that are also waterproof and just bolt on. What more could you ask for. That’s some serious engineering. Shit that’s worth the investment. Just bought me my first jeep 14 jk can’t wait to buy these and put them on. Thanks for the install video! You guys are spot on. And they are accessible with doors off? Excited to order some

I just got done installing them on my JKU 10A Rubicon, all by myself....it can be done with a decent car jack and a 2x12 (or a cut a piece of plywood) for it to rest on for weight distribution. You have to rock the sliders forwards on the jack to attach it to the Jeep, and to hold them in place I set a 30lb dumbbell behind it. It was tedious, but it worked like a charm. Just take your time. It took me an evening and the next morning to complete install. So far I love them. Gen 2's give your Jeep a nice clean look. WORTH THE INVESTMENT. The kids love them, lol.

Watched this a dozen times and also finally installed it last year. It’s awesome and have had zero issues. Only advice is don’t cheap out and just buy the led! You’ll need a cheap pin removal tool.

I love this updated wide step you guys have made. Nothing like it on the market. Do you have a model that works with trucks that can still take an impact like these ones?

Thank you! We do not carry a model for trucks anymore. However, Aries Automotive sells a more heavy duty power step that can take quite a bit weather and water! www.ariesautomotive.com/

I love the steps when they work, but I'm tired of the motors sounding so weak and the step only going half way up. I'm using a Dupont Teflon Dry lube and it seems like it never lasts long.

Do these have one or two motors ?? Im doing my research on which auto steps are best suited for my lifted jeep that lives thru harse cold Chicago/Milwaukee winters... Rock slider, Amp, Aries ??? Yours i prefer due to being actually Rock sliders for crawling purposes,,,, but the Amp Extreme is rated for harse Cold climate with duel motors i believe ?? Would appreciate any info please.... T/y

Will it be much different to install on the 2 door JL? I will do mine tomorrow and some of that electrical looks like it may only be accessible through a backseat... Anything else I should look out for while installing?

I’m surprised no ones talking about the loud clunk that makes everyone jump when they extend or retract. I love them and they look great but it frustrates me that the first conversation everyone has is asking me why they they make that noise. Has anyone found a way to make them at all quieter?

Thank you! While the harness is waterproof, the circuit board is not (YET!). We are in the design process to make the whole system waterproof in case you do run into a situation like that.

Rock Slide Engineering Why only target the jeep community? Your missing out on the bigger picture and limiting your sale potential. I have a 2020 chevy 1500 and I would love this product on my truck. Please make it happen.

I caution anyone who is looking to purchase any rock slider that requires you to loosen or remove the three body bolts. These have red and blue loctite on them and in the Jeep forums there are tons of people who have broken the bolts off or, as in my case, the welds in the body holding the nuts have released causing nothing but headaches.
@rockslideengineering5125
@rockslideengineering5125 6 жыл бұрын
We recommend using a breaker bar and steady pressure to remove the body bolts. We do not understand why some bolts are so much tighter than others, but we have had great success by going slowly but surely to remove those bolts!

Installing these now... you should mention that you should silicone and seal the holes under neath , and on the passenger side you made the electrical fitting to large to put through jl hole. What a pain..

I have a programming issue the steps work perfectly but if I leave them for 5 minutes the open by themselves and the leds start flashing lime indicating an error, after that they are blocked and do not respond, I'm really frustrated and concern because they are new I just install them but they have a good quality. Please help me solve this issue

Carlos, Did you do the install per the install instructions with our sensors or did you try to cut into the jeep wiring? We only see this issue if the factory recommended install is not followed, but if you give us a call we would be happy to help you diagnose them! If you need parts, we can make sure you get those also!

How do they handle water? Also, do you recommend sealing the hole where the wires go through the floor board?

All the connections are water proof and the motors are water resistant. Feel free to go fording through the river! These will still operate once you have exited the water!

We have an override switch along with a door delete kit that is an accessory that you can install. It will turn the door sensors into little buttons that, when pressed, will deploy the step. Upon pressing the button again, it will retract the step.

Hello Frank, While AMP makes a great product for multiple applications, we focus on being an off-road capable platform. There are significant differences between the two brands, but it all depends what you are looking for your personal vehicle. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to reach out to our sales team at Sales@rockslideengineering.com. They are extremely knowledgeable and can help you further! We hope you have a wonderful day!

I’d hate to install these stupid things and go off-roading and open the door to get out and these things bang into the rocks and break . Jeeps shouldn’t have shit that Denali trucks have ... it’s a Jeep ... not a luxury vehicle .. just buy solid rock sliders such as the ones by poison Spyder not these fancy things 🤦🏻‍♂️

Thank you for your opinion! While these may not be what you are looking for at this moment, our Step Sliders service a wide demographic of people from small children to being very capable for our friends with bad knees or other disabilities that may make it difficult to climb in and out of their vehicle. We want to make sure people can get in and out of their jeeps. We appreciate all our off-roading friends, and want to make sure they can continue to do the things they love in their jeeps without the pain of getting in and out, while providing some awesome side protection! We hope you have a wonderful day!

if you are on a rock and don't want them to open, you can just switch them off, chill, they are solid steps, very beefy.
@DonziGT230
@DonziGT230 2 жыл бұрын
If you had a JK on 40s you might think otherwise about having steps. I can get in with a little effort, shorter people have a very hard time. If there's a car or something else close to the door it's much harder to get in without the step. Parked in a rock garden with the door sill about 4 feet off the ground like I was last weekend it would have been very difficult to get in. If the step opens onto a rock while stopped the most that will happen is a paint scuff. And they can be turned off easily so that they stay up.
