Unfortunately, when I purchased mine(gen 2), no one told me they needed monthly maintenance. Now mine have stopped working due to my neglect. You need to be sure to lubricate them regularly. Hi, when removing the doors, why do you have to use the door delete kit when you can just use the disable switch provided with the steps? Thanks
@northridgenation
@northridgenation 2 жыл бұрын
The on/off switch doesn't allow you to operate the steps, only to turn the system on/off. If you activate the switch when the steps are up, they stay up. If you activate it when the steps are down, the steps stay down. The door delete kit allows you to lower or raise the steps at the push of a button.

Bought a used Jeep with these already on, and not working, took passenger side totally off after much time, the linkage was all bent and unhooked on it, was able to get it reassembled, and Working, but Drivers side making a ratcheting sound like the motor gear is stripped out, and it won’t lift the step! $300 for a new motor, and these units weigh like 80# each, needless to say, I’m removing them, going to install a permanent step that is much lighter, and don’t have to spend big$ to repair! Anyone want a used set, that needs a motor, 2016 JK 4dr, using the pneumatic tube, Gen II I guess?

@northridgenation
@northridgenation 8 ай бұрын
Did you get them from us? First step is to reset them. Pull the fuse up near the battery. Check to make sure it is good and then reinstall it (replace it if blown). Did the steps go down and go back up? Everything good? Then it just needed a rest. Still not working? Pull the motor plug at the step and check for corrosion. If it's nasty, clean up all the corrosion, add in some dielectric grease, plug it back in and retest. If everything looks good, then it might be a deeper problem. Contact your oarts supplier to find out what to do next.

@@northridgenation I found that I took my time on a 2022 JLU and three of the six nuts came loose. Even going slow and doubling back often. The tack welds just aren’t strong enough to handle that much torque repeatedly.
