I've told that to my dad pretty often, I think considering gender roles imposed by society when it comes to parenting it's a pretty good compliment because dads are usually stereotyped as "distant, emotionally unavailable, etc"

Coming from a society where step parents are not common at all, and the few stories we hear once in a blue moon are always about how the children and step parents don’t get along, this was so beautiful and emotional to see. It’s amazing how these parents have been more for the individuals than their biological parents could ever be. Blood is nothing, it all comes down to love, care, respect, and time.
