@@ddffgghbjjnbgvcccda There were a lot of dodgy calls and missed calls (there always are),, the difference was not in quality, it was quantity. The US was able to rest key players in key moments but Serbia weren't able to do that. For such an intense game, fatigue plays a huge part. E.g. Jokic couldn't get his shot going. That's fatigue. No one shoots well when they are exhausted. That's the only difference I saw. Kudos to your Serbia though. It was nice to see the US players really earn a win for a change. It also means they will have a better attitude in the final.

As a Serbian i want to say this Curry is best shoter of all time, Lebron is one of best players ever, Durant one of best ever, 12 HOF dont want to start to with all achievements against Serbia with Jokic MVP of NBA and one solid NBA player Bogdanovic and two role players Micic and Jovic. And this clown Nick Wright still siting there and praise comeback like we are equal like this was not battle of David and Goliath, like USA did something extraordinary?! They nearly avoid biggest choke in basketball history. LeBron is not leader he never was doesnt have what it takes he is great player but that killer instinct that aura of unbeatable only had Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Americans admit when someone was unsure when Kobe was in team when was any doubts in your minds when Kobe is on field. Good luck to you when LeBron, Durant and Curry retire.

Steph Curry won this game for the US. If he wasn't there, it would be Serbia going to the finals. Steph played like a killer out there. Shows how his mentality is when all is failing and he has to take control of the game. Serbia looked poised and mentally tough. But they didn't have a Curry in their team this time.
@cam2735
@cam2735 2 ай бұрын
That’s not necessarily true tbh.. all the 3s curry scored, he gave right back on the defensive end. In addition, Curry started the game so hot that no one got into a good rhythm.. if Curry didn’t play, someone with better defense would be on the floor and others would have gotten into a rhythm earlier on in the game. Curry was great, don’t get me wrong. I just think someone else steps up since they would be in rhythm + the POA defense that curry lacks would reduce some of the 3s Serbia made

@FrankDBoyce if they call a foul on Jokic, if the foul is before KD shoots, the 3 doesn't count!(according to rules anyway) First of all that was not a foul, lets get that clear. 4th on Jokic basically taking him out of the rest of the game defensively. That is 3 points for usa and jokic out, another jokic foul where he had a clean block on AD and foul was called that is 2 free points and a non foul on Jokic. Those 2 sequences directly gave usa 6 points in a 4 point game. Not to talk about embiid scoring while travelling, Serbia complains and gets technical, 2 that should have not been points on embiid and a tech ft curry makes, another 3 free points from refs. The only problem with fiba rules is that the clock runs so fast and they might not generate much money on view duration (meaning, less commercials) also lesser timeouts. Plus in an 82 game, most nba players wouldn’t last with these kind of physicality and yet they downplay 80’s and 90’s basketball which this how they play before.

British NBA fan so didn’t have any skin in the game. But wow what a game. The USA 4th quarter line up of curry booker Lebron KD Embiid really stepped up. Shout out to Booker…didn’t know he had that kind of defence in him and also hit some crucial buckets. Shame that wasn’t the gold medal match. Wow!

From my perspective, several things happened in today's game. Team USA became overconfident after their two previous victories against Serbia. They didn't move the ball as they usually do and opted for a more individualistic style of play. On the other hand, Serbia, once they saw the first two or three three-pointers drop, gained momentum, and couldn’t seem to miss a shot even if they wanted to. I also believe that Steve Kerr's game plan wasn't the most appropriate today. Nevertheless, it was still a good win for the United States.
@reeceaguilar8374
@reeceaguilar8374 2 ай бұрын
I think we the USA were also rattled by Serbia s physical defense and we were struggling /hesistant to attack the paint when there were bodies in it. This isn't something we are used to in the NBA since that defense is basically banned.

Brou is 100% right. Kerr was consistent, he said it was about matchups and fit against Serbia, and he stuck to his guns in the rematch - and they won. Let's face it, the guys playing ahead of Tatum are Lebron and KD, two of the best ever to do it, and they delivered once again. Btw, I think it's highly debatable whether Tatum was actually better than either of them last season, he was on a very similar level and he played on a better team, and accolades like 1st team All-NBA tend to come with team success. Bottom line, they beat a really good team let by a three-time MVP who barely left the floor, and now they're playing for the gold. Like Brou said, 20 years from now nobody besides Tatum himself is going to care that Tatum sat against Serbia, they're just going to remember that Team USA won the game. If a motivated Tatum lights up the Warriors next year, then good for him, more power to him. But it's really not relevant to the discussion WIldes. Steve Kerr is not worried about that when making lineup decisions in the Olympics lol, nor should he be.
