@FrankDBoyce if they call a foul on Jokic, if the foul is before KD shoots, the 3 doesn't count!(according to rules anyway) First of all that was not a foul, lets get that clear. 4th on Jokic basically taking him out of the rest of the game defensively. That is 3 points for usa and jokic out, another jokic foul where he had a clean block on AD and foul was called that is 2 free points and a non foul on Jokic. Those 2 sequences directly gave usa 6 points in a 4 point game. Not to talk about embiid scoring while travelling, Serbia complains and gets technical, 2 that should have not been points on embiid and a tech ft curry makes, another 3 free points from refs. That is just in the fourth quarter. Dosens of travel calls were not called. This is not nba and travels should not be tolerated.

Fiba rules are just better, no? I mean, less downtime, more dynamic games, full court defense, travels are freaking called, and weird hooks from the offense are called as offensive fouls and not defensive fouls. Maybe FIBA rules on an NBA court?
@pingguerrero33362 ай бұрын
The only problem with fiba rules is that the clock runs so fast and they might not generate much money on view duration (meaning, less commercials) also lesser timeouts. Plus in an 82 game, most nba players wouldn’t last with these kind of physicality and yet they downplay 80’s and 90’s basketball which this how they play before.

From my perspective, several things happened in today's game. Team USA became overconfident after their two previous victories against Serbia. They didn't move the ball as they usually do and opted for a more individualistic style of play. On the other hand, Serbia, once they saw the first two or three three-pointers drop, gained momentum, and couldn’t seem to miss a shot even if they wanted to. I also believe that Steve Kerr's game plan wasn't the most appropriate today. Nevertheless, it was still a good win for the United States.
@reeceaguilar83742 ай бұрын

Brou is 100% right. Kerr was consistent, he said it was about matchups and fit against Serbia, and he stuck to his guns in the rematch - and they won. Let's face it, the guys playing ahead of Tatum are Lebron and KD, two of the best ever to do it, and they delivered once again. Btw, I think it's highly debatable whether Tatum was actually better than either of them last season, he was on a very similar level and he played on a better team, and accolades like 1st team All-NBA tend to come with team success. Bottom line, they beat a really good team let by a three-time MVP who barely left the floor, and now they're playing for the gold. Like Brou said, 20 years from now nobody besides Tatum himself is going to care that Tatum sat against Serbia, they're just going to remember that Team USA won the game. If a motivated Tatum lights up the Warriors next year, then good for him, more power to him. But it's really not relevant to the discussion WIldes. Steve Kerr is not worried about that when making lineup decisions in the Olympics lol, nor should he be.
