How did Stephane Grappelli manage to play the violin differently to everyone else on Earth ? Listen to anything played by him and you can recognise his style within seconds! A true genius.

there was also another one... Heifetz and I believe that a collaboration between Heifetz and him would be really something!

Grappellis violin playing is reminiscent of Itzhak Perlmans.

a true artist! His feel for the music and touch on the violin is classic. To bad he is no longer with us.

So nice to hear him in a good quality version. Just used to him on scratchy 20's and 30's recordings. What a true master.

Grappelli was a true master of the violin, one of a very rare breed. I especially liked Grappelli and Django Reinhardt.

Grapellis music is so unique that you will feel every note he plays. This makes his music so sexy & romantic as if I can afford not wake up the next day... Ive been exposing my daughter to his music and style hoping that when she grows up I can hear from her Grapellis legacy. Thanks for your reply CARBAU57 I appreciate it. Btw, Ive seen your channel. Great one!

Very original, unexpected improvisation on Someone to Watch Over Me. Such mastery, and ease, and flowing creativity with that melody - it must feel something like flying, and you can see a look of ecstasy on his face ! - Nanaimo, B. C. Canada.

Eigentlich ist Geige nicht gerade eins meiner Lieblingsinstrumente. Aber dieser Maestro Grappelli hier... Mit gefühlten 120 noch immer so voller Ideen. Der ist einfach grandios. Wer spielt Gitarre? Ist auch toll.

Does there exist such a graceful and sophisticated sound like the music by Stephane Grappelli ? This is exactly the image I have about French people.

There's nothing to say but there's a lot to listen... :)
Someone to Watch Over Me - Gershwin outdid himself with this song, and Grappelli's version is as emotional as can possibly be from the wedding of man and instrument. And how about a good word for the guitarist accompanying him on "Someone"? Listen to the harmonics and soft, every-note-in-place touch. Who IS this?
