I agree. Talent like Stephanie Mills, Melisa Morgan, Mickey Howard & Angela Winbush were soooo under the radar. They didn't have the machine behind them like Beyonce or Ri Ri have. I 💕 them. All above mentioned women are talented but the older singers were/are in a league all of their own.

Stephanie Mills is one of the greatest voices to ever grace our ears. And can I say she looks dang good?!!! She said she's turning 66 this month of March... she doesn't look at day over 45. Amazing!! Love how down to earth, and how 'down' she is too. I pray the Lord blesses her with many more years of life.

Man, as a 50 yr old black man, listening to this interview with Ms. Stephanie Mills put a smile on my face. Just listening to her speak you can tell she’s an old school value black woman who’s filled with a lot of love and respect for her culture and people. When she mentioned how her and her siblings had the same mom and dad I couldn’t help but reflect on the current state of the black community as a whole and the seemingly distain and misery that black women and men tend to have against each other nowadays. I hope that as a people we can get back to those days where we have that love, respect, and will to standby one another. Much respect for this beautiful black woman.

She was, is, and always will be a class act. Smart, beautiful, insanely talented, and brave enough to speak the truthes no one wants us to say. I got to see her in The Wiz when I was a teen. It was my first Broadway show and first Broadway album. There's no other voice like hers, and she is underrated to the point of insanity. Love and respect to the one and only Miss Stephanie Mills.

Diana Ross paved the way to the Beyonces of the world. That's why doing stupid lists of singers/artists won't do you any good. Does Beyonce chart and sell out arenas all over the world? Yeah. But who came before her and did about the same trailblazing in addition a whole new industry? Who are more important then?

Miss Stephanie Mills is a classy lady and one of my favorite female r&b vocalists. I may be partial to her gospel album Personal Inspirations. I was that odd white skinned Native American boy whose very first 45 record was Sly & the Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay." I grew up with the music of Miss Mills, Deniece Williams, Diana Ross, Al Green, Barry White, Bobby Womack, Sly Stone, Rufus... mmmm I could go on forever. Very good interview!! Totally enjoyed it. I would love to preface the following with the fact that I am one who rarely writes comments. I tend to just enjoy the interviews and delight in what they bring me...which arguably could be a bit selfish...but I digress. I couldn't but feel compelled to contribute a comment after listening to this interview. I had long been aware of her overwhelming talent-underrated as it is But today ,thanks to this interview, I feel like I got an introspection into Ms Stephanie Mills'character. A true lady with an unadulterated dedication to her art, unwavering adherence to free speech and most of all obvious love for her community. Now,that is a real pearl in my book in that alas you don't come across people like that much anymore.... I would be amiss if I didn't congratulate Mr Shawn Prez not only for his interviewing skills but also for setting such an affable atmosphere congruent to such a great interview. Last but not least, and this going directly to Mr Vlad since it is his platform, integrity and authenticity (as exemplified in this interview) are the ingredients that would keep this gentleman-who happens to be of African descent- coming back for more...

A great and humble artist. A lot of male artists were under her charm. Because she has an aura. She's small by her size but she's giant by her personality and her talent. I admire this lady. I'm definitely a big fan.

Ms. Stephanie is outstanding. A sweet young lady who is blessed and has had some awesome opportunities to keep growing. April 8, an upcoming movie experience, Bishop TD Jakes, plays a critical role in this movie. God bless Ms. Stephanie. May God keep blessing her over and over again.
