@@UnclewaynewayneI hate I missed that but I was a kid a million miles away from Broadway. However as an adult in the mid 80's I have seen her in concert twice. Her voice is golden. She's so underrated I don't know if she has a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame.

I remember when I first saw this back in the mid-eighties, I was like, damn! That little girl from The Wiz grew up. She can really belt out a song! There are no female singers in R&B, Hip Hop, pop, whatever you want to call it, singing like that these days. Maybe in gospel.

....OK!! ALRIGHT!! ...Yes, the Video was 'cheesier' than a Mississippi Thanksgiving Dinner (1:00), but Steph's singing on this track, is straight-on F-I-R-E!! ...She's singing SO strong, that she can't even pull back, after she hits the NOTE!! (2:22) ...Stephanie was becoming THE 'electro-funk Dance Queen', when she hit #1 Dance (..and,Top 10 R&B), Sept. of 1984, with this jam.....THEN, Chaka released "I Feel For You", the next Month..... GAME OVER!! ...ha-HAAA!! ...One of Steph's sultriest Vocals, and got her back on track, with the public, until, she "Respected the Power Of Love"...... ; ) (3:44)

But you know videos at that era has reached its infancy stages. Prior to that in the 70s to early 80s most artist had to perform on stage to do their tracks. Now the 80s set the tone for videos. Especially Micheal jackson thriller album.
@theconfidant36564 жыл бұрын
Anthony Ogans have you seen any videos made 10 years after this?
@IamRocque3 жыл бұрын
@@bhudlove1344 Yeah I noticed even from music videos in the 60’s it really wasn’t common but artists still did it. The 80’s really redefined music videos and music as we know it today.

One of my favorite singers back in the 80's. I got hung up on her heavily after Donna Summer. Both ladies had such amazing voices. Donna was certainly beautiful, but Stephanie was both beautiful AND sexy. (Not to say Donna wasn't sexy, just Stephanie 'worked it' more). Wow! She could not only sing, but move as well. VERY hard to take my eyes off her. At only 4'9" tall Stephanie is proof that big things can come in small packages. Donna and Stephanie were two singers from my younger days that I wanted to meet.

"Never knew love like this before" "Put your body in it" "Sweet Sensation" "Pilot Error" "What you gonna do with my lovin" "Two hearts" ...and the list goes on. Seriously, have you been living under a rock for the past 30 years? This is great music, and blows away any current soul or pop, hands down.
