It is so helpful to hear stories like this. I lost my son last year when he was 2 weeks old. He had congenital heart disease and passed after his first surgery. It was the worst experience of my life and I still have days when he’s all I can think about. About 5 months after losing him I found out I was pregnant again with another boy. He is 6 weeks old now and doing so well and has a healthy heart. He has truly been a blessing and makes my days a lot more joyful.

I too lost my son at 8 days old, it was an undiagnosed PDA which resulted in congestive heart failure at home (even after we expressed concerns and were ignored). It's hard when you feel so much anger when you should be able to grieve.

A HUGE shoutout to Mandy for allowing me to do this and providing an open environment and open mind to what my heart felt needed to be said.

I lost my baby girl at 30 weeks, completely unexplained stillbirth. There wasn’t anything wrong with her or the cord or the placenta. It’s the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to us. It’s been almost 2 weeks and we can’t think about anything else.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. My husband and I both work as nurses in obstetrics. He works in high risk antepartum and I work in a hospital affiliated birthing center. We are always seeking ways to care for our patients in a meaningful and compassionate way- but we are acutely aware of it when caring for a family with pregnancy loss. We appreciate any insight you can offer and I pray your story brings some healing to others.

The best thing to hear is "You are not alone." Whether or not the parent/family believes that or not, hearing those words are so helpful! Encouraging the family to take photos of/with their child is something I wish I had been encouraged to do. I have maybe 4 pictures of Robert and I wish I had more. Encouraging the family to hold the baby. Richard decided not to hold him. He was to emotional and heartbroken and angry. He regrets not holding him.

I feel your heartbreak, we had a baby girl stillborn at full term. It is the most devastating loss. Big hugs to you.

I am sorry for your loss. I know the pain of losing a child as well. I recommend this book ,"Lessons from a Place of Pain" on Amazon. It's a great read and I know it can give you a extra dose of strength.

I’m in tears watching this video. I lost my son at 34 weeks a little over a month ago. He was born December 1st and was due January 12th. Like Mandy, a couple days after Thanksgiving a feeling that I couldn’t get rid of(no matter how many people told me it was okay & that he was just a “chill” baby) took me to the hospital. I went one week prior on Nov. 19 for monitoring. I was told he was moving normally & that he was doing a lot of smaller movements I probably couldn’t feel. He had been moving less for a week or two at that point, which is why I went to have him monitored. I wrote it off as me being paranoid. On November 28th I went to the ER(it was almost midnight) where they couldn’t detect a heartbeat with the Doppler. I knew immediately. After taking me to labor & delivery, doing an ultrasound and another Doppler, they confirmed my first baby had passed away. I had to be induced and didn’t go into active labor for 3 days.

There was also no explanation for his passing, I had a completely normal/healthy pregnancy. His umbilical cord was wrapped tightly around his neck when he was born as well. That’s the only reason they could give us. So like Stephanie’s dad said, even if she had gone in earlier(like I did) they wouldn’t have known what to look for.

I am so glad you posted a video about stillbirth. It would be great if you did a video on a pregnancy and delivery after having a previous stillbirth. I've had one live birth after a stillbirth and it was so frustrating finding information for mothers in my situation and I was afraid to go to birth classes since I had been through the birth process before.

It is so hard being pregnant after having lost a child. Our rainbow baby pregnancy was so nerve wrecking. I was so on edge the whole pregnancy.
@wendywardashley3 жыл бұрын
Would just like to say, if anyone experiences reduced movements PLEASE get the baby checked. A trace of the heartbeat can indicate if blood flow to the baby is reduced. Get checked out it doesn't matter if its a false alarm .x

Thank you for sharing your experience and God bless you 🙏 and be with you as you share! I am watching because my niece and nephew lost one of their twin boys at 28 weeks into the pregnancy 😢 and 4 days later she gave birth to the twins, Ryder was stillborn and Brody was a very small preemie who was whisked off to the NICU where he stayed for 192 days. He was in critical condition for the first month at least, he had to have 2 heart surgeries and he had 2 brain bleeds! It was a roller coaster ride for them because of this and the fact that they also had to decide what they were going to do about Ryder's memorial! There were many times we didn't know if Brody was going to live or not, but he was a little warrior and he just kept fighting to live! He is now 18 months old and you would never know that he had gone through so much to survive, he is walking and talking and meeting all of his milestones!

Knowing what I know now every single pregnant woman should have a home Doppler ( less than $50) and possibly a home ultrasound ( $300-500), common on farms. We are farmers. The well known dr Paul MD published a 20 year study on vaccine dangers and lost his license for doing so. He’s not anti vax and neither am I, but they should never be given during pregnancy or right after birth. I’m so sorry you lost your baby. The cord could have tightened. Like you said, it’s hard to say. But always trust your gut.

Thank you for sharing your story! ❤️ I am very curious to know how you are handling the sense of loss that your kids feel. My sister was an incredibly sensitive child, and she used to cry and say that she missed our grandpa who died a few years before she was born. I (being an insensitive older sister) couldn’t understand why she even cared, when I didn’t feel any sort of loss from it, since I was too young to remember him. As an adult now, I wish I had realized how much emotional support she had needed then.

Thanks for sharing your story. If I may ask how did u decide to have more children after your loss? I lost my son about 4 yrs ago and I still can’t think about having children. It’s been rough but ppl like you who shared your story give me the hope that it gets better. And in the future I would love to have more children❤️

I am so sorry for your loss. I don't think that you are ever "ready" to have another child after experiencing a loss. None of our children were planned. I had been told early on in life that it was going to be very difficult for me to ever have children. I was on birth control when I got pregnant with my first. We never made the decision to "have kids" or to "try" to have another. Life just kind of happened for us.

This looked like an interesting story but the compulsive use of the word "like" as a quotative just drives me crazy and I couldn't watch the whole thing. It seems like young mothers are among the worst offenders when it comes to this sorta thing.

No, there was no compulsive use of 'like' - where?!
