I have to admit when you were finger raking the products through her hair I was doubtful it would turn out well. But wow! I’m so glad you did this 3 part video to SHOW how it’s done! My hair is almost exactly like hers in texture, strand thickness, and pattern, and super bleach damaged. Thank you so much!

Loved, Loved, Loved watching the process from start to finish. I can’t believe the curl Sylvia ended up with and the amazing volume. The best part is it looks so natural and not like plastic curls. I need to try this. I always apply everything on sopping wet scrunched hair. This made her hair look like it was going to have waves and she ended up with gorgeous curls. More please!!

This is why I your vidoes vs most others...they just say...defuse the hair or show a speed video of the process but you actually walk through the whole process with explanation all along the way. Even though I've had curly hair all my life, I've never know how to take care of it. Love your instructions. Thank you.

Wow! The transformation is insane! I have to be honest, I was nervous when you were styling her hair because I thought it would dry straighter but her curls really came through. I think I might have medium to high porosity because I feel my hair definitely dries faster in most areas but it does retain water pretty well. I’m learning more and more as you show examples of different clients.

Thank you Silvia and Stephanie, I really appreciate this inside view video. I especially liked watching your product application on Silvia's hair, sometimes I get a little worried about the amount of product I'm applying, ie "omg am I putting too much or not enough on?!" My hair similar to Silvia's hair in the fact that I do have color and styling damage as well as my curl pattern is maybe a touch tighter than Silvia's so this gave me a lot of perspective on how to apply products and dry using your methods, Stephanie. I REALLY appreciate Silvia being so willing to take part in this, your curls look gorgeous! Thank you, thank you, thank you both ladies. xo

I have watched these three videos like 10 times each cause her hair is so similar to mine. Even the length. I still can’t believe how much better it looks then when I was attempting the other method. The heavy method is NOT for wavy HP hair and so many girls are wasting time and product. I can’t wait for you to go more viral and change the curly world.

Wow! Literally that’s all I could think by the end of this series of videos lol. I’ve been hesitant to jump into buying the Deva Curl products you suggest because I have so much product and it kills me to just toss it all. I miss the days before the CGM blew up on KZbin and other social media and the days I would wash and go with just one styling product. And it’s funny that I was “influenced” into jumping in the bandwagon by people who had these amazing hair transformations. It certainly is taking an effort to unlearn everything, but healthy hair is worth it!Thanks so much to you and Sylvia for this awesome demo! Can’t wait to give it a go.

Seriously dude... this set of 3 videos has totally recalibrated my curly hair journey. I'm high porosity with blonde highlights, 2b/c waves and curls and cgm for about 2 months using devacurl products exclusively... but totally the wrong devacurl products. I've watched a ton of curly girl vids and its all about moisturizing, especially for high porosity, and I've ended up with flat waves and curls and some ringlets. But it's all flat with no volume and gets wilted throughout the day with no way to resurrect my curls for day 2, and day 3... forget about it. After watching this series, i switched from no poo, deep conditioning, style cream and gel... to delight low poo and conditioning, wave maker and foam. What an incredible difference! Still get lovely waves and curls, no ringlets... but who cares... because I've got volume, volume, volume! And 2nd and 3rd day curls... finally! I thought high porosity meant i need extra moisture, but thanks to you, I now know my hair needs minimum moisture as it holds moisture so well. Now my hair is light, soft, healthy and beautifully wavy, curly and voluminous. Thank you, thank you. Ps. Don't worry about your videos not being "professional", you are completely professional in your approach and presentation and I really appreciate your integrity xx

WOW! Thank you! I discovered you yesterday and can't stop watching your videos! I have been CG for 4 months and had previously worn it pretty long, straightening it every day, AND dyed blonde. I'm also growing out the blonde and embracing my salt and pepper (mostly pepper). I tried this method this morning but did not do a good job with the plucking part. However, my hair dried in 1/4 the time that it normally takes. I really thought that my hair would get really frizzing, applying the products on damp hair instead of sopping wet hair but it didn't. Thank you!!

So I THINK I have to stop trying to figure out what my curl pattern is and work based on my porosity...which is *HIGH* -dry, frizzy, and soaking up ALL the water. I love what you did here! Thanks for the tips.

Sylvia, first of all, you are gorgeous! You have such beautiful facial features. And your hair? OMG! I started off the video thinking your hair looks similar to mine, except yours is more dense. By the end? Wowzers! I NEVER would have guessed you had that much potential lurking. Stephanie, I'm fully on the bandwagon. I discovered you last night, went out and bought your recommended high porosity Deva Curl products today. My hair is pretty healthy after 2 years following the Curly Girl Method, but I'm sure it can improve. I love that your system is 1/4th the amount of time I'm used to spending. Especially living in a cold climate, having wet hair for 4+ hours some days just doesn't work. Thank you!!

You are just a wealth of information young lady!! I'm really loving your videos and trying desperately to figure out this hair of mine. At this point all i really want to do is figure out what products are best, what routine will work best and not have to wash and dry it every damn day. I do have the grey roots colored, which I'm not ready to stop doing. I do not want grey hair. So it's kind of confusing... Thanks for all the great tips and sharing your knowledge with us, I'm going to try and implement some of these things and see how it goes. Oh and if people don't like your videos, they should not watch. It's that simple.

Heidi Panella Me too, I'm not going to do gray. My hair is to my waist, use no heating instruments on my hair and don't brush or comb it when it's wet. Let it air dry and go. I could use a cut from someone that knows how to deal with curly hair.

This video series has helped clear up a few things for me. 1. I always thought I had very coarse hair because I have a lot of hair, as it turns out I just have a lot of fine hair. This might explain why my hair tangles and is matted so easily. 2. My hair is high porosity. I never thought that it could be because my hair is not extremely damaged. It has gotten VERY wet VERY fast and has always dried VERY slowly for all my life. I only use hot tools 4 to 5 times a year. Plus I never bleach it, but it is dyed a darker color. So it's probably naturally medium-high porosity. 3. What I'm still confused on is WHY my hair is still frizzy? I thought that I had low porosity hair because it is SO frizzy. Has soon as it starts drying it's frizzy. Even though I am styling with a cream and have tried using a variety of gels, including the ultra defining gel from deva curl. I don't struggle with definition, just frizz and matting. So how do I combat fine, high porosity, FRIZZY, 3a-3b curls ?

Keep bringing the truth out for all the curlies. We appreciate you very much. In regards to this series, did you cut her hair dry? What kind of hair cut you did to get that volumen? Go to settings and put the playback speed on either 1.25 or 1.5 IF you do not have the time to watch the entire video on regular speed. Some people do not like to watch long videos or do not have the time, but this video totally goes over the entire drying process and is very helpful for people who are used to seeing the short versions of diffuser drying for curly/wavy hair.

Binged your videos all weekend! Thank you for your insight, it’s been so helpful. I tried this technique and the plucking made a huge difference, I don’t look like a sad, flat wet dog now. My only issue is when I use a small amount DevaCurl leave-in decadence, I get great spiral curls but they look weighed down, greasy very quickly. When I skip the leave in, I’m left with loose, kinda puffy waves but it feels like nice soft real hair. To use leave-in or not to use 🧐🧐
