What’s the BEST Way to DETANGLE CURLY HAIR?

Thank you Steph :) I definitely only dry detangle these days. My fingers do a great job. Then use a smooth wide tooth comb carefully and then actually a boar hair bristle brush. I am able to get out all of my knots and tangles before the boar bristle brush and my scalp loves it so I've come to a compromise that way. It is quite a nice routine for me that I know not everyone would have time for. Then one a week, I try to apply some nice scalp oils for a few hours post brushing and pre shampooing. That balance makes me hair and scalp the happiest

When my sides were super super short I used a soft boar bristle brush on them and it felt so nice

Brushes do not 'create' a curl pattern, they help smooth & clump. Also, many people (including poc) who have curly hair do not have afro hair, so I'm not sure how leaving 'curly' hair stylying to a single racial group will benefit most people.

Please tell me how to detangle wavy hair for men. Medium/short length?

Just rewatching this as my hair starts to grow out :) Always enjoy your educational content. Would also love to see you working through some curls with your fingers on clients of various tangling. I do love hearing you talk but when it is paired with watching you work, it always settles the best in my brain.

Thanks Steph for your common sense advice.... There is way too much hype regarding curly hair and products. The reason I decided to let my natural curly hair be my everyday style was because I wanted to stop the flat ironing and pulling of my hair and essentially I want to start my mornings with ease and after I researched many curly YT channels I was like ..... WTF is going on with all the brushing, layering of product upon products and not washing hair for weeks. I instantly said not for me and did my own thing and thankfully I found your page. I'm glad you're back
