Still have my Gun N Roses use your illusions I and II CDs i bought back in 1991. Back in the day music compact discs and cassettes had the lyrics to the songs in the insert that came with it. When I first heard this song back in late 1991 I was fighting back tears thinking about the Gulf War that ended in early 1991. When your fears subside and shadows still remain these lyics of the song still live in me today.

It's a little confusing but it's based on a short story. They both had a whirlwind relationship and he ends up cheating on her. Even though he apologizes and promises to do better she can't live with or without him so she calls him over to her place only to kill herself in front of him while his hit song is playing. In the video, the wedding is a dream and only the funeral is real.

Yeah the mirror in the coffin hides the other side of her head which means she probably shot herself in the head. To have an open coffin they had to have the mirror to make her look “whole” the exit wound probably destroyed the left side of her head. Just saying that it was a suicide in the video.

Okay so, yes the bride was a model, Stephanie Seymour and was Axl's girlfriend although that didn't go too well, the video itself it's supposed to be the second one of a trilogy they did with don't cry, this one and estranged, and those videos are basically mini-movies based on a novel wrote by a friend of Axl, and the main character of that novel was in fact Axl obviously with another name, so the video is narrating the troublesome relationship between the character and his girlfriend in the novel and at the same time narrating the relationship between Axl rose and his previous girlfriend, if you have seen the don't cry video you'll notice that in some point the fight over a pistol, then the girlfriend took the pistol from Axl's hands and kept it, it's a theory that she basically used on herself and that's why there's a funeral in this video, and of you notice in this video where she's on the casket there's a mirror so we se just her right side and the reflection, this is because in the old times when war heroes would die and one side of their face was damaged, they used a mirror to reflect the good side so people don't see the horror on the damaged side... That's why there's a theory that she well used the pistol on herself
