I just purchased the new Bye Bye undereye (luminous version) and am loving it ! Super hydrating version for my 47 year old textured, dry skin under my eyes. I use about a pin size amount spread out between both eyes and it works so well...especially with a tiny bit of colour corrector 😊

What color corrector do you use?
@minoukvandervelde7154 жыл бұрын
@@nancyhedke5387 the Peripera Ink Corrector (from YesStyle) or sometimes the Ulta colour corrrecting face stick in peach 😀

Thank you! This is an amazing video, so helpful. I am 40 with dry skin, and it's my HG for undereye. The one major advantage is that i don't need to use the setting powder which always looks *a mess* at least on me. It also stays put, which none of the others do that don't crease. I am a similar coloring to you, thank you for the shade guidance, I am now very inspired to check out all the things you recommend.

I saw several reviews where the coverage started to fade away after a few hours. I was afraid this would look bad under my eyes so I passed on it. I did get the new Dior concealer and I absolutely love it!!! It’s not finicky at all and I wear it around 17 hours when I’m working and I don’t lose coverage. I’ve set it and not set it and got the same results. You also get much more product for the money.

Very nice review on the concealer giving your honest opinion of the good & bad. I’ve been testing it out for about two weeks & I really like it. I use my fingers & dust brush with either CT or Jouer pressed powders. And you are so correct when you say you only need a small amount. A little goes a long way.

Thank you for such a thorough review. I ended up returning mine. It went on beautifully at first but after a few hours the coverage was gone. I tried almost all the methods you did and it’s just not worth it if it doesn’t last. Back to my KKW!

I tried this and the shade was a pretty good match for me. I always start out with a very small amount when trying any new concealer and add until I figure out how much it takes so I figured out right away that it only takes a small amount of product. I usually use a sponge on one eye and my finger on the other the first time I try a new concealer. I haven't yet found any concealer I like applied with a brush. I liked it best applied with my fingers too. I lightly set it with a light dusting of powder and it creased on me in less than 3 hours. I tried it a 2nd time with a different setting powder and setting spray and again it creased on me in a few hours. It also wore off and began to disappear way too early both days I tried it. I returned it. It's a little different and it is pretty when first applied but if it creases in 3 hours and doesn't last, it's a hard pass for me. I don't care how pretty it is when first applied or what brand it is, if it doesn't work for me, it doesn't work and it goes back to the store. I don't have any interest in any product that doesn't work for me all day long. Kind of working and being pretty for a short day are not the kind of products I want in my life. You may want them in yours but I have no interest in a product like that. It either works well for me or it doesn't. And this concealer definitely does not work for me. I want a concealer I can count on no matter how long my day ends up being. Do you want it to work for you so badly that you're unwilling to admit that it doesn't? I've never seen anyone try as hard as you have to make a concealer work, when it clearly is not working for you. Anyway, it's a hard pass for me. It's too expensive to not work well for me and look great. There are much better products for much less that work beautifully for me.

Thank you for the excellent review. Given that this concealer is waterproof, it makes sense that a dampened sponge would not work, as it is supposed to repel water. I suspect the talc or solid ingredient content is higher than average and i also expect the concealer to mix over time with any oil, whether sebum (oily skin) or oil-containing primer, moisturizer or foundation. Your review makes me wonder what the age and skin type ranges were when Hourglass tested this concealer.

I couldn't click fast enough on this video. I myself have really been enjoying it. I purchased it in the shade oat. I typically apply concealer with my fingers and set lightly so this has been working for me well this way.

I’m watching this video because I received my concealer in the mail. Tried it many times using many techniques which is annoying to have to go through this since it’s expensive. It did everything u said in this video. I wish I watched this video before purchasing.

The fair shades of many top rated concealers, TF Born This Way, CT Magic Away, GA Power Fabric and this are all very yellow which doesn't work for those like me that may or may not be vampires. I need a neutral or slightly cool toned concealer and these brands are either too yellow or too dark. Btw - I bought the Nikkia Joy powder on your recommendation and it's amazing!! It keeps my combo oily skin matte for almost 10 hours! Thank you!!

I’m on the fence about this concealer too. I’m 45, almost 46, and I felt like it got drying and crinkling too, and wore off halfway during the day with my purple peaking through midday. I’m on the fence about returning it. It’s a strange combo of having some light reflecting properties but looking dry at the same time. It’s weird.

Thanks so much for the info. Concealers are soooo hard to find. So when I find a good one, I try to stick to it. What I have found for myself is no matter what concealer I try, it’s creases and cakes under my eyes after a certain time. What I’m working on now is finding products to keep my under eyes hydrated. If you have any recommendations, that would be great!

The only powder I can "set" my undereyes with is Hourglass Dimlight. And I only use powder there to combat mascara smudging since creasing isn't that much of an issue for me & when it does happen I can gently tap it out. I don't think this concealer would work for me. I tried so many concealers & have 3 that I'm pretty happy with. 1 is actually a corrector, 1 is drugstore & 1 is an old skool classic. Once I stopped setting with powder they all looked great. I don't think these longwear, full coverage concealers were designed for 60 yr old eyes which have never had filler lol. And $34? I think I will pass but thank you for the detailed review as always

Hi Stephanie, I tried the Hourglass concealer and returned it back to Sephora right away. It was very thick and instead of concealing, it accentuated fine lines. I exchanged it for the new Dior Forever Skin Correct and I love it, it’s so creamy and smooth. I don’t know if you tried the Dior yet, but I think you might like it. Take care.

I spotted this in the store before seeing any reviews. I tried it on (a very small amount dotted on) and blended with my fingers. I thought it looked so heavy and really emphasized my texture. Then I started seeing reviews pop up and they were overwhelmingly positive. I decided I needed to try it again, but had the same result. I don’t understand the hype on this one-I just prefer a more skin like finish and this one looks obvious and makeupy on me.

Jamie Parks I’ve tried both Jouer concealer stick and liquid. I feel that the stick concealer is not full coverage if that’s wha you’re looking for. It is hydrating but I would prefer the liquid version compared to stick version.

I'm 52 (as of last week!) with normal to combination skin but am very dry under my eyes. The wrong concealer and setting powder make me look like I have texture, creases and wrinkles out of nowhere that can't be seen without makeup. I like that this one you featured doesn't require much product, but it doesn't sound hydrating enough for me and I don't like the sound of it crinkling so much. Thanks for the review, Stephanie. - xx, Carla

I bought 2 shades, one lighter and one darker to mix throughout the seasons. I’m 49 and dry skinned plus I live in a very dry climate. I find less is more and as you said, it dries fast. I wouldn’t describe it as liquidy, I think it’s “ thicker” than my MAC concealer. I really like the way it smooths out my under eyes with very little effort and I don’t have to set it. I think if I set it, it would appear too cakey. As you always say in your videos, we all have different skin types/concerns and live in different climates--those factors certainly play into how our makeup wears! I really am enjoying it but I’m wanting to try out the new Dior Forever one and I’m curious which of the 2 I will like better. I know they’re different but which one will I cherish more, y’know what I mean? Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your experience so far!! I was glad to hear your 2 cents 💜

Great video, doing your homework as always and then giving your honest opinion, which I appreciate. After watching I think I’ll pass on this cause I have normal to dry skin and I don’t have too much darkness. I’ll stick with my favorites: born this way sculpting and milk makeup flex 😁

Do you find the Milk Flex to have good longevity? I'm extremely fair and I know they expanded the shade range for that concealer so I was considering it but I need it to look good with maybe one touch up throughout the day.

I recently went back to using my Laura Mercier concealer (the double sided one), and my cle de peau stick concealer. I use both very sparingly. Idk, maybe because it’s winter here and snowing every day, I’m drawn to the light weight creamy consistency of them both. I’m also using the DE lippe balm under my eyes they’re so crazy dry and red right now. 🙀xoxo

I have it and I like it. I have super finicky under eyes and I use a moisturizing primer under my concealer. I’ve also been playing around with the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter under my concealer. I don’t think it would work for me without the primer - I think it would be too dry and settle too much.
