@@brandopeyno: You might have auricular hematoma (blood; darker swelling) or auricular seroma (serum; lighter swelling). I went to a GP in a hospital. You'll need to have it aspirated (i.e., fluid sucked out with a tiny needle), then immediately put it under constant, substantial comoression in order to stop the fluid from coming back. They might either sew a temporary button on your ear to maintain compression or give you a formed ear clamp. Knowing the condition might help you get treatment. I do wear them if I feel soreness, and I also ice my ears after class as precaution, and also massage and pull my ears to warm them up beforehand via Fedor, who I have seen do and recommend this, and he has pristine ears after all his wars amazingly! I now have two stripes on my white belt and may get the 3rd soon. I am enjoying the journey very much and may compete soon for the first time. Good luck! ps - I have found that if you sew the head and back strap of the Matman, it will never come loose. Just put some stitches in those areas when you get it to fit ok.
