My wife said something strange to me that made me pause. I record all of my rolls and post them to KZbin. After watching me roll with one of the guys, she said he was a Kinetic psychic. I'll admit, he was a step ahead of me every time I tried to move or adjust. She also noticed that with some guys, I easily control them. However, with others, they control me just as easily. I thought about it for a bit and I realized that with more advanced guys I always feel off balance when facing them. As a purple belt, I can tell the difference between muscle, technique, etc., but I can usually tell when I touch someone if I am going to out grapple them or not.

Excellent tips. It’s been on my mind lately about how to recognize, in the middle of grappling what my opponent may be up to.

Great 👍🏼 advice - we train exactly like this at our gym - most of the blue belts & above are chaining moves & fakes together & we all do specific training drills live - good instructors - I love, “you develop by getting smashed...” 😁

touch tells everything. It's whether or not you can "feel" that matters. Takes a LONG time....Rickson calls them "invisible" techniques.

Grappling and fighting in general is a physical chess game!

William Fitzner I disagree with that. Chess signifies I go, you go, I go etc...How abt this...I go, I go, I go, and then maybe I give you a chance to go. This is how Marcelo Garcia describes it. That’s the ideal of course.
