Right. Especially in the 70s-80s Steinbrenner was a nut. He would fire managers basically every season, sometimes even at midseason. The reason the Yankees became what they were in the 90s is because he was banned from baseball for a couple of years and the farm system with guys like Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera was allowed to thrive without him. If he hadn't been banned he would've traded them for a big name player past his prime like he used to do frequently in the 70s-80s.

The reason so many people are “fans” of the Cowboys is through marketing. Also, there are 32 NFL teams. The Cowboys aren’t more valuable or more popular than every other franchise combined, not even close. There are more fans of the other 31 teams than the Cowboys, and I am sure espn could mix it up and be even more successful. Jerry Jones probably does pay for the press he and his team gets. He does the radio shows and flaps his gums because it keeps people talking, even when the team stinks. Jerry is just your typical billionaire - more concerned about $$$$ than ANYTHING else.

We're done for this year. But this time I can take it, it feels different this time. Over the years, there have been some, but very few sports commentators, or people involved with football in general, who had the guts to call Jerry out for his obvious mistakes as both, owner, and general manager. But this year has been different. EVERYBODY has been calling him out, and that's a good thing. He is not going to give up the team to nobody until he dies, that's real. So,he has two choices now.
