Dan Hurley is a smart man. Dude knows he can continue winning at UConn where he has a job for life, teach young adults not only how to play basketball but how to conduct themselves in the world beyond college, and still makes millions of dollars. Or he can go to the Lakers and constantly be in the hot seat for not winning a title every year, have to baby sit grown men with over inflated egos, listen to the criticism of the laker bandwagon fans and viper media about how he isn't fit for his position, and ALWAYS be under the threat of being fired after losing a game. I think his decision was an easy one. IMO the Laker head coaching position will always be open, and whenever Hurley is ready to move into the NBA a head coaching position will be available to him, either with the Lakers or another team.

If anyone got sense, no one should take that job. It won’t be about winning championships or even winning games. It’s about keeping LeBron on the team and drafting Bronny. They want the media circus that will go along with it. Then whoever ends up being the head coach will be pressured to play Bronny when he has no business playing and they’ll specifically want LeBron and his son on the court together at the same time as much as possible. Then, when they don’t win, the coach will be the scapegoat like they always are. Smart for Hurley to turn down the job
