The thing with Allen was that the 76ers weren't going to get better for Allen. The Owner of the 76ers at that time was ED SYNDER who also owns the Flyers. Snyder was absolutely dedicated to the Flyers, and every cent of his money went to the Flyers. Larry Brown got all the wrong players. Mutoumbo wasn't the right fit. Larry's contention was that Mutoumbo was from Georgetown. Iguodala sold Allen out. Allen showed Iguodala the way, and Iguodala shot on Allen!!! When we came out of the NBA Finals, we were a player or two from REALLY contending, Snyder shut down the cash flow, and Allen finally tired of the bullshyt, went off. Here he was the MVP, & they're bitching about a few missed practices when Allen was the most BANGED-UP player on the team!!! It's a miracle that Allen is able to walk today!!! David Stern was jealous of Iverson because Allen was the biggest threat to Michael Jordan's legacy. With all that on Allen, he goes out and balls his heart out for the 76ers!!! I’ve been watching sports commentary for about 28 years when skip left ESPN it forever changed sports commentary. They’ve both gone on to do great things but it’s just not the same. I watch Stephen a maybe once or twice a week if that and the same with skip. When they were together I never missed a show. Ratliff not only was he a great defender he was also that second dependable scorer that we lost when Ratliff got injured, which Allen never got again. Brown panicked and made the wrong move. Larry Brown destroyed our team then blamed Iverson for the mess that was made. Then, after losing in the NBA Finals the 76ers failed to make the proper adjustments and Allen, (with the help of David Stern) gets labeled a bad player, who was a ball-hogg, poor defender, & locker room cancer. Larry Brown ran his offense through Iverson. There wasn't a play drawn up for any other 76er at that time. Everybody else was EXPECTED by Brown to play defense, yet Allen led the 76ers in steals. I don't know how steals aren't a part of playing defense. Steals are the rewards of playing defense. Steals are like interceptions in Football. Interceptions are part of a defense in Football, but steals are not part of a defense in Basketball? I don't understand that reasoning.
