Your take is stupid and defies reality. Trout has put up numbers his entire career, so he's obviously competitive-- you have to be competitive and dedicated in order to train and produce the way he has. You can't knock a guy who feels loyalty to the team that drafted him and will wind up paying him nearly a half a billion dollars, as well as loyalty to the fans that have worshiped him. Moreno has failed to live up to his promises to add the talent required to win. Trout has been vocal about needing more talent, especially pitching and wanting to keep Ohtani, and he has publicly and privately lobbied hard for free agents to come play with him. An iconic player does not just pick up and leave-- he's not the average player. He is now stating very clearly that he is considering leaving if Moreno does nothing to help him.

Capsule injuries are no joke. Kyle Wright going through it now, though his is fully torn. Very few pitchers have ever returned to form, most have their career end. With Trout-- I admire his loyalty. BUT if you listened to what he said he did express that he might ask for a trade if things don't change. If the Angels don't add a starter (Snell or Montgomery) and they don't replace Ohtani's bat at DH and they don't add a single everyday player on the field and they lose-- he will most definitely ask for a trade quietly behind the scenes this year. If the trade deadline comes around and the Angels are 20 games back and in 4th place again I think he goes to the Phillies for two pitching prospects and Crawford-- all of this is contingent on Trout staying on the field and producing.
