My uncle went into cardiac arrest back in 2017 after singing in a concert. He died right there backstage. One of the most heartbreaking moments I’ve ever experienced. So this I know very well cause I’ve seen it 🥺 I pray that Hamlin recovers and the Lord will give him grace to continue his journey on earth.

Nah this could have happened at anytime. What likely happened is something called commotio cordis. Where if you hit somebody in the chest at just the right time, they go into cardiac arrest. The window of opportunity for this is literal milliseconds. There are over 300 million people in the US and only 30 cases are reported each year. Thats how rare it is. Commotio cordis tends to happen in children too with the average victim being 14 years old. Its nothing to do with hard hits. Its everything to do with the timing

It hard to imagine that this has never happened before last night. I saw Shazier go down and become paralyzed on the field, so many guys tear muscles and break bones, many more stiffen up with concussions and get knocked unconscious. But this was so Fkn scary to watch live. Pittsburgh is a solid city with mostly stand up people and right now we are standing behind this young man and his family and truly hoping they can make it threw this troubling time together.
