Payton was right about what he said though, those first two games before Hackett basically allocated clock management to one of the guys on his staff was some of the most horrendous decision making I’ve seen from a coach. I mean the fans were literally counting down the play clock because the Broncos couldn’t do it themselves.
@madboyreadynow28 Жыл бұрын
I was sick of hearing all last year the issue was Russell Wilson. I saw the bad coaching. The disrespect of the other players towards Russell. Ownership paid Russell. He’s not going anywhere. It’s Sean’s job to clear out all the mess and bring in coaches and players who are on board with his agenda and Russell as the QB. Denver is going to be a play off team this season. Colorado bring in the heavy hitters to bring respect back to CU football with Deion and now Denver with Sean. There will be some great football being played this year in the state of Colorado.
@truthbearer7891 Жыл бұрын
IF Russell Wilson bounces back it validates everything Sean Payton said about Hackett and shows why there was an unprecedented move of a coach burying another coach which you never see in sports. It's Sean Payton saying this coach was so bad he literally tarnished the image of a HOF level QB in ONE SEASON. Russell Wilson had the 2nd most TDs in NFL history for a Qb's first 10 years in the league and he really didn't get anything close to All-Pro level skill players until the last couple of those years. And he even was #1 in the league in TDs from 2017-2020 after Beast Mode and LOB. But the Broncos were so bad last year that ppl were literally questioning his HOF credentials.

Russ was full diva mode last year... if payton had come in then with authoritarianism Russ and his entourage would have clashed heavily, because Russ's whole desire to leave seattle was so he could do things his way instead of Carroll's way.

Yet Wilson was treated waayyy worse in the media However, I Also didn't like how Hatchett became the scapegoat when Denver was in the first year of Hatchett as HC & Wilson as QB. That's a lot of moving pieces, on top of the OLine being the worst it's been since Manning retired. So I think Sean Payton's comments were to take heat unwarranted blame from Wilson... But I think he shouldn't have mentioned Hatchett because the Denver front office hasn't been great since 2015, as well as the dropped passes, fumbles by RBs & penalties of the Broncos team in 2022 (things that Hatchett & Wilson couldn't control.)

Let's see. Worst coaching job in NFL history. I have a different nominee: Sean Payton. 2012 he was suspended a full season. For paying cash to players for injuring opponents.. That is the worst coaching job in the history of the professional sports.. Players being banned for gambling on games. Payton should have been banned forever. Three coaches in the NFL history. Seifert, Shanahan and Coughlin not in the hall of fame. All have 2 Super Bowl wins.

Blowing up the past to create a 'fresh' future as a CEO I've done the same. Eliminates the ifs and buts and looking back. The past was fucked...say it once, say it loud...clean slate...let's build the future.

I don’t know how no one blames the Offensive Coordinator!
@jamesdavis8731 Жыл бұрын
Because Hackett WAS basically the offensive coordinator. It was Hackett's offense. It was absolutely brutal, non-sensical play calling. It was almost a total lack of leadership on offense. It was a HC try to find a square piece into a round hole. It was awful.

Always impressed how smart these guys are.

Guys, as a Denver fan, there are so many other details that aren’t discussed at the national level that fall on Hackett and George Paton (Broncos GM). Example: Melvin Gordon -just google it lol

Sean Payton is trying to lower expectations in the case things don't go great.

It’s the lead in question that cracks me up!!! Depending on who says the hot take, the lead in question is “Was it Fair?” Instead of “Should he apologize for his comments?”
