Madhands that’s true but Pat Bev takes it to the extreme. I mean his blinding love for James Harden makes him unable to accept the fact that Harden has indeed lost a step and ain’t the same guy, and that makes it hard to take him serious. He’s trying to deny something that we all can see clear as day. Even when you take into account they were teammates and are probably still close, you still gotta expect him to be able to separate that to some degree when he’s on there as an analyst.

Yeah true but if Pat Bev isn’t truly doing that cuz there are people who do keep it honest 100%. Based off what he is saying is according to ESPN and etc. Harden should get the Supermax. Tbh I don’t know uh player more nowadays dat put up 22 9 n 8 that wouldn’t get supermax. Because of the fact if you were so supportive of a team to bring a player like Harden in knowing his limits and injury that same confidence should be in that check to. Here's the thing, Harden still is a star in this league, he still can ball out and no one is debating that fact, but you can't honestly say he's worth supermax dollars when his play has dropped off appreciably since his injury. Added to the fact of his play in these playoffs just added to this argument of him not deserving of a supermax today, plus add his resume of playoff failures in the past, plus the fact he forced his way out of both Houston and Brooklyn, and in both circumstances out of shape. Don't get me wrong 22/10/8 are excellent stats for anyone, but when your Harden, who just like four years ago was an MVP, averaging roughly 28 points over the last several years before his injury to now just more a facilitator than a scoring machine. He's not the Houston guy anymore, so to me it's difficult to justify him getting supermax or max dollars when his production has slipped noticably this season. Now maybe he gets back into shape to garter a supermax next season if he does indeed opt in his 47 mil this season, and he better because I have serious doubts if he does have an inkling to opt out, he will not get the supermax with the 76'ers. I just don't see it happening, but again there will be teams that would sign him a max deal outside of Philadelphia, it always happens. To me he's gonna have to prove next season he can perform near what he was capable of doing before his injury to earn that max.

@juliocastaneda5940
@juliocastaneda5940 2 жыл бұрын
@@Uniquelyuzi then I promise you this, they will be hard pressed the 76ers organization to pay Harden over 250 mil over five years. The only monkey wrench that happens is that Harden and Morey are buddy buddies, but I can't see them paying Harden that money after all his resume in the playoffs speaks for itself. Harden seriously needs to opt in and prove it first or he's gonna be gone from Philadelphia because he's not taking anything less than max dollars if he opts out, and after all the mess Ben Simmons created for Philadelphia, they aren't going to spend more cap space on a declining player that is Harden.

@juliocastaneda5940
@juliocastaneda5940 2 жыл бұрын
@@OhGeeGanksta again that's what I believe also, Harden is still an All-Star level talent, that's why I believe he needs to re-up his last year, to prove to us that these past two season were flukes and he can return near to what he was prior to injury. Do I think that will happen? Honestly no I don't because his work ethic has dropped off just as much as his play. If he comes back next season the same as he has the past two season... Then it's a lock he won't get max money anywhere let alone Philadelphia. That's all assuming he does re-up, if he don't, I don't anticipate Philly supermaxing his deal either. Not after the fiasco with Ben Simmons. They would be very stupid to do so with Joel entering his prime and the team wasting it on Harden who is a declining all star talent.. As much as Harden and Moody are so buddy buddy, the organization itself isn't going to throw $250+ million out the door either if his play doesn't qualify near that.

I understand pat bevs logic, but you can’t go off of hardens previous resume. Only time I would do that is if he was a bit younger maybe 25-27 because you are beginning to enter your prime and you can bank on a player getting better. He’s 32 now and he had a bad performance in the playoffs so it seems he’s on a decline rather than incline. Max money but not super max

Stephen A took what Joel said out of context. Joel said that Harden isnt that player in Houston anymore because that kind of play that is mostly iso ball has a ceiling where u can score 30 or 40 and get great numbers but the team doesn’t win. It’s the same thing with Westbrook. Both get great stats as individual players but they need to change their game to be more team oriented so the team can win. And that’s why Joel said he is not that player anymore, cuz harden is not gonna just play iso ball, get 40 and still lose. harden is a great player but it will take time to adjust and adapt to a different kind of play. The challenge for the sixers coach now is to create a team system that will use Joel’s and hardens talents to their advantage. And u can’t do that in half a season. Next year they’ll be better, I’m sure they’ll work on chemistry over the summer

I’m a huge sizers fan…I’m here say if the sizers didn’t have harden down the stretch they don’t get the seeding they got, maxey game would’ve developed the way it did in the final months of the season and they lose in the first round to Toronto I read all these post that Harden feel off but why listen to this one of the great basketball minds , pat Beverly is saying which basically the defensive packages put against James harden meant to lock him and if you don’t have the best coaching behind you then you get shut down and made a shell of yourself. Houston Mike Dantoni was his coach and told the media harden would put historical numbers in “his” system….was he wrong? Harden will adjust as long as the sizers front office makes adjustments . Fact is Embid great as he is…gets hurts every season it seems which is no fault to him…then you expect MVP James harden when the sizers offensive scheme doesn’t warrant his “mvp” style of play. Overall the league in this post season the refs are inconsistent in there calls for the stars…let’s be honest… Back to harden super max. Why not ? Victor oladipo making 20 million plus coming off the bench and coming off ripping his quad off the bone . Why are so concerned about what money is going into this man pockets in the first place…saying why deserves..what he’s worth…none of know the back stories of what’s going on as there two sides the story . Me personally think he just locked up and didn’t play well as he could….fact is James harden is baller and went into a slump , it happens. If the sixers win the heat series no one talking this mess about how trash the all pro basketball player is…doc rivers once again was out coached by Spotra…he’s been out coached numerous times by his peers and still keeps getting top tiered contracts as coach…let’s speak on that fact.

The question isn't if James Harden deserves a super max, the question is who are the 76ers going to replace James Harden with. Once they say no to the super max deal, James Harden will say "I dont want to be here anymore". If I was Daryl Morey, I would pick up the phone and call Portland. Offer James Harden, Tobias, and a pick for Dame. Harden isnt worth a super max but you have to prepare for his departure when you say no.

being honest doesn't mean you're right... you can be an honest idiot and be wrong about everything. honest just means you're telling what you think is the truth, not what is the truth.

It's like this; you killed the person you hated the most and you want to get away with it but someone had a hunch that it is you so do you want to confess or not? You can be honest about it or lie and hire a lawyer so you have a chance to get away with it. The honest part is you confess and right one is hire a lawyer and get away with it because you have no intentions to confess it.

@@HusseinSabbagh that’s hilarious how can you be honest idiot of course there’s a lot of stupid people out in the world but if they’re being honest and they say the sky is blue and you say well today I feel like it’s purple that doesn’t mean they’re stupid because they don’t wanna have an imagination or a Fictionary story to speak to everyone just to feel good or maybe get attention or maybe even change the narrative of color in general. Do we really have that much time in life to be talking about the most idiotic things available just to change something that never needed to be changed in the first place. Man people love to waste their lives on the stupidest things

I don’t think Harden deserves the max but if he opt out which he most likely will, Sixers have to offer him a max level contract or he’ll leave. Unless sixers want to lose Harden for nothing they’ll give him the money.
@Shortballa11
@Shortballa11 2 жыл бұрын
Despite what ppl say. Sixers have all the leverage. He can opt in make 40mil this coming year (which he ain’t worth) and then have a brand new longterm contract with the sixers. Regardless if it’s not the super max he will still make more money in a sixers uniform than anywhere else.

Hamstrings take a very long time to fully heal. The 76ers need to wait and play a whole season with Har den before you can conclude that he's washed up. Relax folks and be patient.
