Charisma313 Too True LOL! Stephen Curry's been my favorite player to watch since he bursted out on the NCAA tournament scene back in 08. I remember thinking, "I'm seeing a lot of Steve Nash in this kid's game. I hope he has a chance to play in the league and get an opportunity." It's amazing to me that he's actually where I hoped he'd be. As for Johnny Flynn, he was never better than Curry. Too many people tend to get sidetracked by athleticism. If you're young and you have it, your flaws get overlooked. If you're young and you don't have it, you have "limited upside". LOL It's always fun coming back to these kinds of videos.

Because Curry hides behind his teammates AKA Draymond who plays the point more than 50% of the time, and other players like Iguodala (2015 finals mvp) who can carry a point guard's load as well. Curry is just a good scoring point guard in a very well built team that can distribute the workload as a team, unlike other teams that their stars have to carry them. Curry won't even be as good if he plays in a different team. Just look at the all-star games for example. Curry never excels playing with other teammates so far

I tell ppl all the time curry wasn't a player with high career expectations ppl thought he was gonna be an occasional all star but never anything significant.If you really look back besides LeBron n arguably Durant he surpassed everybody else from his generation who was said to be on par or better than him (cp3,harden,blake,pg13,deron,wall,rose,melo,lillard etc)

they really didn't say anything bad about him, just that he had to prove himself.
@nerdstop50257 жыл бұрын
Sonic yeah, plus, they said that the wort he'd be would be pretty much like Kyle Korver, an assassin from long range. Which is still VERY good
@claytron30007 жыл бұрын
You're insane if you thought he would project to be this good. He was 160+ pounds soaking wet. He was a dynamic scorer, but so was Fredette, McDermott, Korver and others. Curry was nowhere near any of those guys, size-wise. Those careers are hard to project. Fredette could've been Korver, and vice-versa. Give credit to a guy working harder than everyone else in the room. His handle is infinitely better. His range goes out 4-5 feet further. A much better defender on and off the ball. Can fight through screens. His body is now built for punishment, where his college body was a question mark. He's changed the entire dynamic of how we analyze basketball and the value of the 3-pointer - who in their right mind in 2009 would've thought that Curry (along with others) would've broken the analytics scale? The experts projected him out as is. I can say (along with many others) that Michael Beasley would've been a top-20 player in the NBA if he projected out. That's just what we saw at the time.

The true baby face assassin....was a beast in college & the rest is history. Dubs definitely hit the jackpot when they drafted him & killing the Knicks dreams of taking him.

The Timberwolves had two opportunities to pick Curry, and they overlooked him. I know hindsight is 20:20, but their decision was DUMB.

Even if we picked up Curry, we don't know how good he'd be on the Wolves. Definitely wouldn't have turned out as good as his career is now. The Warriors created a great team. Though I'm happy with how the Wolves team is doing right now :)
@xogxgenesis85717 жыл бұрын
+Young Trece I think he'd be about the same if the Wolves picked him up minus 1 MVP probably and those two championships. He might even play the PG role even better. I can see his assist numbers going up without Draymond and he'd be playing with Wiggins and Towns. The Wolves would've been scary around now.

The 2009 NBA draft actually was one of the the better ones. Blake Griffin and James Harden in the top 3, along with Thabeet who was a 7 footer back when big men were highly valued. Tyreke Evans who won Rookie of the Year. Then the hyped Euro Prospect Ricky Rubio who quietly has had a productive 11 year career and counting. So you can't exactly fault people for passing on Curry who was a scrawny looking good that wasn't a traditional point guard that played against easier competition.
@geraldreyes27142 жыл бұрын
the problem is twolves passing on him twice and getting another guard. which is actually weird.
