It'll throw off the game too much. That would be worth double the points, so even if you hit them at a rate of 21 percent, it would be equal to most teams' average field goal rate. So if you hit the shot at 30 percent, you'd be one of the most efficient scorers in the game. While I don't mind the three point revolution that's going on today, I'd think the NBA be hesitant to sell a product where one of the best strategies in the game would involve missing 70 percent of the time. That makes it boring for fans. On the other hand, I think it would increase the amount of slow dad-bod white dudes in the league who just hang out way back and do one thing.if there was a 40 year old dad who could hit the shot at 33 percent, he'd break every scoring record in the league.
