It isn't. Just because they both have a wizard school and a boy wizard does not make it a copy. First of all, it is possible for two people to have the same idea. Second, inspiration is not copying. Otherwise we'd have to say that all modern fantasy writers are copying Lord of the Rings. The reality is that they are inspired by it, but most do not directly copy it.
