Yeah but Lebron played way more minutes. Getting to the finals 8 years in a row means playing all throughout the playoffs, every single round. Kobe started out off the bench, and then missed the playoffs after Shaq left and then couldn’t get out of the first round until they got Pau. Even during Lebron’s first stint with the Cavs, he made the playoffs every year after his first, and had always gone beyond the first round, meaning consistently more minutes. At this point, Lebron already played more minutes than Vince Carter (who is the oldest player in the league). Lebron’s year 16 has a lot more mileage than Kobe’s year 16.

Here is how I look at it. I am a Lakers fan, have been since early 80's living in Santa Barbara. When Kobe was on the team and they were playing in a game where they were down say, 5 or 6 points with about 2 minutes left, I always felt the Lakers would pull out the win because of Kobe. And they usually did. Now when I watch games and they are in a similar situation with Lebron. I have zero confidence they will pull out the win. And they usually don't.

Take Kobe when the game is on the line, all the stats show LeBron is a more clutch player. He makes the right play, and when he does take the last shot he makes it more often. Just always taking the last shot does not mean you are clutch, it just means the other team's defense knows exactly what you are going to do. Lebron is a far better player and every possible stat shows that.
