I'm a Harden fan and I wont contest the comments. Even though its cheap, you have to understand he is a master of misdirection. He works on that part of his game like Curry does jumper. I think he looks at film and gives things a try to test the limits. He isn't that fast, jump that high but he completely understands the rules and how to manipulate his defender.

Agree and I hear you. I'm just saying once the EURO STEP came out folks just started flat out traveling. Imagine if Kobe was given a drop step and two steps every time down the court. Jordan? All these celebrations after a three ball? Why? Where did the hard fouls go, the enforcers? It's just soft now. Soft players, soft on calls, soft on a lot of things. It is what it is.

He is the point guard he needs to make his teammates play better. They lose that’s the bottom line. Give 43shots to an elite player like KD,curry or Harden they will drop you 70pts but they are self aware they know its about winning like a team not Hero ball.

Those Mormons in Utah are vicious. When Derek Fishers daughter had eye cancer he asked the jazz to release him so he could care for her. He immediately signed with the Lakers right before the playoffs cuz they were title contenders. He also did this tactic with the mavericks. The next time Derek played in Utah the fans held up inflatable eyeballs and had signs that said "Fisher Leyed" mocking his daughters eye cancer

Russ is the leader, he gets the blame. No need to overcomplicate it. "But Paul George tho." Yea PG had a bad game, but if you expected him to play well every single game then the jokes on you.He had a phenomenal game 1 as well. Russ should never under any circumstance take 19 3's. And as long as Westbrooks fans keep enabling him and telling him his behavior is acceptable, then he will never change. Sidenote:Melo might as well throw on a suit and ask FS1 if they are hiring NBA analysts.

Antonio Sanders It’s not even about Russ being the leader, factually speaking it’s the fact that this system built for Russ is what makes them lose. Why is it that GS before KD joined still won games even though Klay or Steph went cold in some games? The way the OKC offence is run doesn’t let other players to get involved and get into a rhythm. On god, switch Russ with Curry and Billy Donovan with Kerr and that OKC are going to the finals. PG and Melo missed a total of 18 shots combined, Russ missed 25 shots... from that perspective it’s clear who’s was the bigger brick fest in that game 6. It’s crazy to me how in those last moments with the 6 shot attempts in that 1 possession, no one set a single screen for the shooter. Curry is able to hit late game game winners via a screen to beat his defender. It’s a 5 on 5 game at least use the players around you instead of taking contested shots. People refuse to blame Russ because of his effort, but since when does effort excuse bad performance? Idc that he willed them back into the game, he still missed 25 shots that could have converted to an extra 50 pts (or 75). Keeping it at 2s, Melo and PG costed a potential 36 pts which is bad but Russ by himself costed them 50 pts.

no offense but your argument makes absolutely no sense. I give you that Russ did cost them 50 potential points because he missed 25, well okay, but he did score 46, which is a total of 46-50= -4 points, so that's what he actually cost them. On the other hand PG and Melo missed for 18 shots combined, costing 36 potential points, but they only scored for a combined 12, which is 12-36 = -24, even if you divide that equally on both of them (which is actually unfair to Melo) you still get -12 points that they cost. There's even a stat that shows this without all these calculations, it's called FG% and it screams: PG was just trash in this last game
@GreyDuck54

Carmelo is to blame. You can say Russell doesnt improve players around him, you can say hes a stat padder. But Melo been playing bad his whole career. When has Melo made his team mates better? fvpbz54 Westbrook! Westbrook's basketball IQ is average in a good game, shooting mechanics are suspect, teammates can't play off of him, his game is exciting yet inconsistent, and he stops the ball movement 😷 he makes your offense one dimensional and limit your options because players can't play off of him at all leaving you to rely only on him💯 His game is literally built for the 00s, 90s, or 80s not 10s 👀 If your star player can't play in a Spurs, Rockets, Jazz, Raptors, Pacers, or Warriors type of offense/defense with stars and skill players in this modern day league you're not gonna win a lot of games or championships 😩 Paul was underwhelming and Melo was a black hole, not forgeting neither of em can't play team defense along with Westbrook 😶 Thunder should trade Westbrook honestly lol I love Westbrook, but you're not gonna win much with the way he plays LMFAO Plus he's a super athletic guard that relies on talent and freak athleticism, they sell tickets, but their game don't age well in their latter years plus he's 29 going on 30 😌 Just get the draft picks for him while you can and start the rebuilding process asap 🙏 Trust me, I'm a Westbrook fan, but let's be real...yeah and by the way Melo gonna stay because no team gonna pick him up haha honestly at this point Westbrook isn't even a top 5 guard or player! He's roughly a top 10 guard or player at that! Top 15 definitely, but anything higher than that you're pushing it! I can name 4-14 players that I'll choose over Westbrook 😑 They should pull a Jimmy Johnson and Herchel Walker trade him 😌

skip is using the exact same argument FOR Russ that he used AGAINST LeBron James in the 2013 finals, Game 6. He's giving Russ credit for willing the Thunder back into the game, even though they ended up losing, but he gives LeBron no credit for willing the Heat back into the game against the Spurs (and eventually winning the game, unlike Russ) because LeBron ended regulation on a low note and Ray Allen was the one to hit the final shot. If Paul George had hit the big shot at the end, Skip would've given Russell credit. Ray Allen hits the shot for LeBron though? No credit to LeBron for giving the Heat a chance to win.

Everyone loves Westbrook but tbh he is cancer to himself and his teammates. He is almost 30 and still haven’t found the tempo to where he can be a more efficient player. Billy is also a terrible coach and Melo needs to accept the fact that he has declined and come off the bench like Manu or D Wade did this season. Melo could easily get 15+ off the bench.

I went to the OKC/Jazz series to see him play in person here in Utah and Melo is not even close to be done. Now I can easily say that putting him at the 4 was the worst decision ever made by Billy Donovan. He's always going against bigger guys on both ends of the floor and there was not even a system in place to actually utilize him the right way. His production took a huge hit because the adjustments he had to make was way too much especially knowing that he was labeled as the third option from the very beginning. The coach relied on Westbrook and PG for their ability to run around with the ball in their hands to create which is fine, but I think he should've then transitioned PG at the 2, Melo at the 3 and either Grant or Patterson (both underrated) at the 4. Melo would've been his usual self consistent touches and rhythm. Yes his numbers would've been down still, but he would've been more efficient. Just like they let Westbrook be Westbrook, they need to let Melo be Melo. The only thing I can say that he needs to change, his to adjust to be more of playmaker first because the game has changed.

Kenneth Clemente Westbrook's basketball IQ is average in a good game, shooting mechanics are suspect, teammates can't play off of him, his game is exciting yet inconsistent, and he stops the ball movement 😷 he makes your offense one dimensional and limit your options because players can't play off of him at all leaving you to rely only on him💯 His game is literally built for the 00s, 90s, or 80s not 10s 👀 If your star player can't play in a Spurs, Rockets, Jazz, Raptors, Pacers, or Warriors type of offense/defense with stars and skill players in this modern day league you're not gonna win a lot of games or championships 😩 Paul was underwhelming and Melo was a black hole, not forgeting neither of em can't play team defense along with Westbrook 😶 Thunder should trade Westbrook honestly lol I love Westbrook, but you're not gonna win much with the way he plays LMFAO Plus he's a super athletic guard that relies on talent and freak athleticism, they sell tickets, but their game don't age well in their latter years plus he's 29 going on 30 😌 Just get the draft picks for him while you can and start the rebuilding process asap 🙏 Trust me, I'm a Westbrook fan, but let's be real...yeah and by the way Melo gonna stay because no team gonna pick him up haha honestly at this point Westbrook isn't even a top 5 guard or player! He's roughly a top 10 guard or player at that! Top 15 definitely, but anything higher than that you're pushing it! I can name 4-14 players that I'll choose over Westbrook 😑 They should pull a Jimmy Johnson and Herchel Walker trade him 😌

Russ play hard but that’s what i expect stop giving him credit for that when we gonna hold him accountable like other stars Westbrook is not a top 10 player he’s a high volume inefficient scorer who’s not developed a good 3pt shot shooting 28% last season and never shooting over 35% for his career but yet he shoots 4 3s a game he averages 40% from the field in the playoffs also incapable with playing with stars no player apart from Steven Adams have maximised their potential playing with Russ durant,harden,oladipo,pg,melo,waiters, sabonis etc if you watch their games you rarely see him play off ball be real when was the last time you seen him without the ball also he’s an inconsistent defender who’s unable to use his elite athleticism to his advantage we’ve seen how good he was locking down harden vs rockets in their last meeting of the season but it’s so inconsistent it’s a problem this is 10 years into the league when you guys gonna see the truth and hold him accountable

The Hippo I agree with almost everything you said, that he’s not efficient, sometimes he takes low quality shots, his iQ isn’t as high as it should. However, he’s without a doubt a top 10 player in the game, he’s top 5-7 easily. He’s the most athletic PG not only in the league but ever, he’s the most explosive PG in the game, he’s a good passer, the best rebounding PG in the league, and is capable of being an elite defender. And he plays with tenacity and aggression, which mirrors all time greats such as Kobe, MJ etc.

Russ took 43 shots because Billy Donovan does stop it. He is by far the weakest coach out there nowadays and i am still confused as to why he’s still coaching a NBA team. Melo was right to just put it out there that there’s no offensive scheme. Russ shoots multiple times and places hero ball continuously because he’s adapted to playing like that and the coach isn’t doing anything to fix it. First step into getting a better Thunder team is to fire Billy Donovan.
