Vernon Hardapple accidents happen but when there’s a famous person involved they seem to get different treatment . I know I have been distracted driving , no doubt you have also and no doubt Stephen King himself has . Drivers get distracted by dogs in the car , kids , road signs whatever . I hate when people like you call the driver ( and his dog - ) idiots . Like the dog knows any better?! The driver wasn’t drunk or on drugs . The poor guy feels terrible whether he hit SK or someone else . Give it a rest

I think she was in a movie with Tiffany Haddish last year. She works every year, but had a falling out in hollywood in the late 90’s. She actually mentions on this show about how she was “cancelled” for about 7 years. She had no work until Barbara hired her. I haven’t seen her in a “starring” role since the 90’s. Glad she stays on The View tho, I enjoy her alot.

I've always loved The Stand because of its geographic scope. I first read it when I was traveling west for the first time, and it really hit home. Plus, the characters were so rich and bizarre. The old film version has grown on me, largely due to the fine actors that were in it. To be able to see a full version with no holds barred is going to be a great experience.

I remember the time in his life when Stephen King didn't have a dime to his name, he had to borrow a little money from a friend, things have changed so much for him now. He's such an accomplished author and does his part to donate to worthy causes. I went to grade school with his wife, Tabitha, and have read her books also. I was a friend of her family especially her younger sister, Cathy,, and I spent a lot of time at the Spruce household. Also I used to help Tabitha carry some of her books home from school. Tabitha was a very quiet girl, and she loved to study and read, and would have so many books to take home. My brother played in a band with another man who eventually married Tabitha's older sister, Anne. My brother was lucky enough to get invited to Stephen's house in Bangor and swim in his pool and do a little partying there. It's not often we have such a well known celebrity right here in the area that is just leading a "normal" life.....it's way cool!!!

We were imagining we were in the Shining, and when not that, just playing loud music and roaming the corridors. :D We had the staff all to ourselves and got to sleep in without extra charge the day we were checking out - no one was coming anyway. I wonder what year they will set the new series of The Stand. The uncut version is set in 1990 but that was 30 years ago, technology and infection control have progressed so much in that time. If they choose to set it in present day it will be interesting to see how the existence of the internet with accompanying technologies could change the story.

"Did you see two little girls there?" King went "shhhh" because that isn't in the book at all, and is something Kubrick made up. BTW, The Shining from 1980 isn't at The Stanley Hotel like everyone likes thinking. I've lived in Colorado my whole life, and have always been irritated when people think that it was filmed there. I made a video walk through of The Stanley hotel just so people can see how different it looks compared to the movie that is very loosely based on King's work.
