Being read to brought back lovely memories. In 4th grade, I had a teacher who, after the afternoon recess, would have us lay our heads on our desks & listen to her read. Because of her, I fell in love with the works of authors including Mark Twain, Roald Dahl & Edgar Allen Poe.

Thank you. This reminds me of elementary school when the library teacher would read stories aloud. Us kids sat crossed-legged and wide-eyed.

Hello Mr. King, my dad is a massive fan of you. His office shelves are filled with your books and he has posters hung in frames on his walls. You are such a huge inspiration to him and about 2 years ago I got into horror. Whenever we watch horror movies I always asked him to find movies based off your books. Some of my favorites are Pet Cemetery, It, and The Mist. You got him into writing horror stories and becoming and author of horror himself! We live in Maine and he and my mom were driving around the area you live in and wanted to visit your house even, just that small act made his whole day! It’s always been his dream to meet you and talk to you, even have a call with you. I think he’s definitely up there for your biggest fan. If you read this, thank you for taking the time. Enjoy your day.

Just found this gem of a channel. Thanks for the jump scare reading IT when I was a kid. It was the scene at night in a park where a runaway was sitting and suddenly IT grabbed his leg. And Cujo was the first book I read in a day. :-)

Been collecting his books & movies for nearly 3 decades at this point. I have amassed 60+ books & 41 adaptions on Blu Ray. What sucks is many of his mini series & lesser known works were never released on Blu Ray, Desperation, Rose Red or the Haven series and in The TommyKnockers case not even a DVD release.

I celebrate his entire output. Thankyou for the thrilling Six Flags rollercoaster that was Holly. Swear to Circe it was my fastest, greediest mindfeast since Cell. On a much more personal note, words cannot convet our shock and horror at the unfolding madness perpetuated in Lewiston. This weekend, all your Constant Readers are also Mainers.

10:34: Stephen King gets his King on! 😊 This man's imagination helped me when I was little and needed to escape my body and hide inside of my own mind so that the shock and fear and pain of the abuse couldn't get to me. He was there when I couldn't tell anyone and had to be very quiet about it. My Dad is my hero; he helped save me from it. But Mr. Stephen King is full of complex stories and connections and drive, in addition to his incredible imagination, and because his wife Tabitha rescued Carrie from the round file and stood by him as he put his thoughts down (I wonder if a pensieve [Harry Potter] would have helped?) many hundreds of miles away, a girl who could always read above her own age level found a story neither of her parents had ever read, and she fell into it as easily as falling into a hole. But that hole was actually an incredible world where you can see beneath the surface and look through the windows and even know other people's thoughts and intentions...and that place has so much to look at and think about and learn that you can easily become fully immersed. I've likened rereading books as slipping into a nice hot bath when people invariably question *why* I would do that. See, everybody knows what to expect when getting into the bath tub. Nothing new or exciting is supposed to happen, you're soaking in comfortable water (possibly perfumed to smell like flowers or spices or herbs) and you feel relaxed. It's like that, except that in King books, a claw may suddenly rise from the water or a being that looks just like you or even a dead body because these tubs are in Mr. King's world. Yet, whenever you choose, you're no longer in a snow-filled forest filled with red strings and circling lights, or dancing in a gym, or in a sun-blasted Pinto with no water; you're suddenly transported back to your favorite chair, or a spot under a shady tree, or safe and snug in bed, free to do whatever you want without fear. Thank you, Mr. King. My life is richer and better because of the worlds you've introduced me to, and you helped me when I was much younger, probably never dreaming that your story of mean kids in high school would help someone escape their own abusers, however briefly, and cause a victim to believe in her own strength. Thank you. ❤

Yeah, here in Australia there is much confusion over whether this project will see the light of day. Just hope the movies' climax won't wimp out like the adaptation of Apt Pupil. Todd Bowden threatening his teacher with a bogus sexual molestation charge, instead of wasting him before doing a freeway Charles Whitman sampler....pissweak.

Hahahahaha..........I love this post and I think my new girlfriend will laugh when I tell it to her. At least, I hope she does. Otherwise the chloroform-soaked rag goes back in her mouth and it's 1 more week in the naughty corner of the basement for her. Hmm, that reminds me; it's three days into our relationship and still nothing about her on any of the news channels. Guess she was the high school black sheep. I should put on some gloves, and type them a nice letter, just so they know what a good girl she can be, (with the right motivation lol). And now I'm aroused..........sigh; super glad it's a uniform with a zipper at the back. Buttons can be so fiddley.
