Stephen A. been covering the league since I was a kid and I’m 41 now. I remember before high speed internet, 24/7 news, and when there was only one ESPN channel, there was this loud talking dude from the Philadelphia newspaper who would pop up on weekly 30 minute NBA television shows to share inside info with the fans. He was there then and he’s still here now after many others have long since came and went. Props to you Steven A. for carving out a small niche back in the day, that with your work ethic you, yourself have turned into a major media figure with a huge platform.

I've been watching Stephen A since the early 2000s - in my best memories 2001- since Fox Sports circa the Subway Series when he was a guest for SportsCenter/ESPN. I remember him LOOKING like a 20-something young, chubby, & eloquent speaking dude with some of the same tenacity he has today. Honestly, I don't understand why people would even hate on #StephenA. I mean, what makes him different from anyone else to _hate on_ that speaks their opinion except that he's more open-minded in my opinion or fair-minded, unbiased, has a high degree of integrity and speaks his mind without the *ANNOYING* sugar coating of most media. I guess being unfiltered with a no-nonsense approach gets to the people of this "soft" generation that enjoy an unnecessary amount of censorship, double standards or even excuses! Not to mention that they waste a lot of time and energy in trying to find faults in a character like that. If you can't respect SA's honorable traits or style of transparency, you probably can't respect yourself! 💯

You know what kills me? people expect everyone to just fall in line with what is I guess is "street code" when neither Jackson nor Stephen A. are in the streets anymore....ya'll both have made MILLONS of dollars. You're both two examples of black excellence and for whatever reason both of you are over the age of 45 and worried about who's a snitch and who isn't.......as a viewer I actually find this to be childish. It's appalling to me however that some people expect others to abide by "street code" 24/7 365 when "street code" isn't what keeps the lights on at home or pays the bills....remember the streets will never love you as much as those kids and your family do.
@soxgangКүн бұрын
This is a ridiculous statement because it ain't got nothing to do with "street code." When we were kids adults and teachers used to say all of the time "nobody likes a tattletale." Do whistleblowers get love? How about police or politicians who tell the public about what goes on behind closed doors are they embraced for doing so? No, they're not, so stop making it seem like the black community is the only one that's anti snitch because the WHOLE WORLD hates someone who they think is telling on them

@jewel679933 минут бұрын
Me too. I have unsubcribed to all the previous and current players' podcasts. There are also some of them that steal clips from Stephen A and other TV shows and ask what do we think.😅 They have no content of their own😊 1. They are very unprofessional in presenting material 2. The consistent daily swearing is off the chart. 3. Some dress like they just rolled out of bed, and dragged on some clothes. 4. Many do some ridiculous " hot takes" just for clicks. 5. Many don't understand journalism. They would not take time to do a course or two to educate themselves and improve the quality of their shows. I agree, the level of other podcasts do not come even close to what Stephen A does. Paying attention to quality and content is what separate him from the others. He is a trained journalist that pays attention to details. Many may not like him, but it is not a fan club. It's a business. Constructive criticism is better than down right nickpicking at everything he says and does.

@ Money is not everything. Self respect and dignity will always be greater than going back and forth with these youngins. SAS is about to sign a 100 million dollar contract. That is generational wealth. Why go back and forth with immature youngins?

If espn asked you to do it for the story, its a non-issue and is not snitching. But, going that hard on Westbrook on the air...not cool. Westbrook is one of the last real ones left.
