Hi Stephen Great job on the painting mate and what's truly enjoyable is to see how you made an uninspiring subject look very appealing. It demonstrates that you don't always have to choose a ruined castle, rocky headland or seascape to make a decent painting and I think your painting succeeds because of your colour palette choice of purples and greens. Well done!

My thinking exactly Nick. Its a great learning scene. Colour mixing shadows etc. Thanks my friend

Heyup Stephen , a good tip I saw (Robert Mee) ,,he has a large margarine tub? it's set at an angle with liñseed oil in bottom , he wipes brushes clean and lays them so that furrel and bristles are submerged ,,he's never had to clean them ,,no reply needed
@EasyOilPainting11 ай бұрын
Hey Paul....thank you for that. I did that for a while however i found that the oil started disolving the glue in the ferrule of the brush and hairs were falling out quickly...

"Isn't that lovely"? Always with the self praise. Self praise mean's nothing. No it's not lovely. It's a David Willis rip off.
@EasyOilPainting3 жыл бұрын
No its not david willis rip off.... i dont even watch david willis...i find his paintings the very same each time and the subject matter is always the same..his techniques are very limiting for beginners.... i do respect that he is helping new artists get started but he just copys bob ross which is too prevalant in the art world.. all the paintings look the same which is preventing beginners from Progressing with their own techniques.. the only reason i sound like him is because we come from the same town and thats just how i talk.. i do like to engage with viewers as there are far too many artists on youtube doing timelapse without explaining what they are doing..
