Congratulations on making it to Part 10 of my bass ukulele mini course! This is the final lesson, where we combine our knowledge of basic playing technique, scales, arpeggios, and rhythm to learn how to make 3 different styles of bass lines: root note lines, root - 5th lines, and arpeggio lines. We will be playing these over the G - D - Am - C chord progression with ukulele accompaniment.

I so enjoyed this course! 😁 I liked the way you wrapped up all the concepts into a nice present at the end. 🎁 Nice takeaways for my back pocket to go beyond root notes! Looking forward to continue learning from you. You are a great teacher. 👍👏👍

Happy Thanksgiving and Boo as this is the end of the course. LOL. But Great course and video. The only thing I would add and you know me as if you took the Bass Line in this video to Level 4, it would be a full Jazz Style Walking Bass Line. I guess an Arpeggio Bass line is sort of a mini version of a walking bass line. Now that this course is over, I wonder what is next? Disneyland? LOL. I can't wait for the next one and next month's live stream as I already talked about missing last month. The only thing new is I went to a great Jazz Concert this past Sunday. Annat Cohen. look her up. She plays a regular, and Bass Clarinetist based out of New York. She was playing with a Quartet consisting of an Upright Bass Player and 7 String Guitarist, A Vibraphonist and Drummer, and a Piano and Accordion Player. A mix of Brazilian, and other kinds of Jazz Rhythms. I went with my Family who got the tickets so I didn't pay LOL. Anyway, I have no idea what your plans are for Thanksgiving, I do know that I am going to my Cousin and Laws restaurant on the west side of Atlanta "Souper Jenny" Westside for our family afternoon holiday meal and it is possible that all family members who want to sing or who wish to play music including me may play. I'll probably bring one of my Ukulele Bases. Probably my Oscar with the Thunders on it. Even though it is louder than the regular Thunderguts in my opinion, it is still not very loud acoustically when you have multiple people singing and a few acoustic guitars happening so I may bring my 25 Watt to the Family "Pumpkin Pie" jam as we are calling it this year LOL. I'll see. I'll let you know how it goes and if I record anything from it that sounds good video or audio, I'll send it your way for you to Opine. Until the next one. Cheers 😀

Happy Thanksgiving! Since I was teaching the theory behind the lines as I was going, a full on walking line would be a tad bit advanced of a leap. I could make a mini-course just on those alone! I considered adding walk ups, but decided to link videos I had already made on the "Where to go from here" page in the pdf version of the course. I might make a "Where to go from here" video where I link all those other videos (island strum walking lines, country walk ins, blues walk ins, ...etc) one day to put at the end of this course playlist. For now I might focus on short holiday songs and try to get back into solo/duo arrangements for a bit. I hope you have some great Thanksgiving jams! Cheers!

Oh, I almost forgot! Annat Cohen held a master class at Georgia State one year when I was a student. I remember her advice on releasing cds was "you won't make your money back from CD sales most likely, but having a CD will open doors in your career." When I released my CD, I thought I'd prove her wrong and make all the money back from sales. And I realized that she wasn't saying you couldn't, just that it's better for opening doors. I could have just spent a lot of effort selling the cds, but then I'd be taking time away from being a musician to become a salesman. But the CD did open doors: Playing at the West GA Jazz Fest, radio airplay, helping me to land a touring band show on upright, and helping me establish a network with someone that helped me get into the wedding band. Annat's advice was great, and I bought one of her CDs at the masterclass.

Nice video Stephen! I'm curious what's going on at the nut of the U-Bass. Is that sticky tack? Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving!

Thank you! I was waiting to see if someone noticed! It's actually a small strip of sponge I pushed under the strings to help mute the open strings slightly while trying to play Victor Wooten's "Classical Thump." I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, too! Cheers!

@@stephencoxbass That’s a tough one! Victor is amazing! I finally met him too! With you being somebody who went to his camp, you know how cool he is! I got to meet him along with Steve Bailey at a concert near me about 2 months ago.
