The difference in the Maguire criticism is that with Maguire you can see that he gives his all. He tries his best and gives 110% effort for the cause. Is he good enough? Can he play in our system? Probably not. The criticism on Marcus is because his effort levels are shocking. There’s games this year where he just hasn’t tried. There’s a difference. If you run through a brick wall for the club but lack the ability, we’ll back you. If you have the ability but don’t try, then get out of the club

Totally agree on Maguire, think he's shown incredible mental strength given the abuse he's endured, and he's really only been Guilty of not fitting a modern system, but in his own performance think he's been solid.

It's worth the gamble to keep Shaw. He was a massive part of us finishing 3rd last season. Between his games at CB and his ability to get Rashford firing (who was *by far* our leading scorer that year). He struggled when he came to Utd and he's had a rough season. But in the 5 seasons before this he's put in an average of 27 appearances per season. Not great, but not awful. *If we sign a starting LB* then he wouldn't face the same playing demands and would be an excellent backup to that player and to Martinez. *If we don't sign a starting LB* then we'd me _mad_ to sell him.

People always forget that most of the games Garnacho has played well he’s been playing on the right wing… Rashford and Garnacho on the left have both been shite this season, because we’ve literally not had a left back. When its Dalot he mostly comes in field, when its AWB he runs the overlap but cant do anything off his left foot so the defenders just stick on the winger and ignore him. Ill judge our wingers when theyre not playing completely on their own

Despite agreeing with virtually every sell decision, it'd do more harm than good in 1 transfer window. We can afford to hang onto the likes of Shaw, Eriksen, McTominay and a few more for one window. I'd like us to keep our powder dry this season. Loans, frees and budget options on short contracts just to replace the "must sells". Give INEOS a full season to overhaul the scouting department and see out ETH's contract. Less haste more speed.

I wouldn't be looking to build a squad for next season. I'd be looking to build a title winning one for 3 or 4 years time. So anyone who I cannot reasonably bank on being part of that future squad due to lack of quality, injury record or age, is for sale at the right price. So for me, everyone bar Manioo, Garnacho, Hoijlund, Dalot are available for the right price. No need to force people out. Honour their contracts. Use them if required. All players brought in should be 23 max. Focus on using the players you expect to be in your future team where you can.

Keep: - Shaw = (as the back up, not Malacia, he can also play left sided center back) But we need to bring in a new left back - Dalot = But we need to bring in a new right back as backup - Martinez = but we need more defenders - Kambwala = good squad player - Mainoo = top talent - Bruno = Im undecided because he can suit a possession based team, but keep him 1 more year - Garnacho = Boy has talent, but needs coaching properly as his passing, crossing and decision making is terrible at the moment - Amad = great potential, needs a coach that will play him - Hojlund = but we need a new striker while he learns his game and develops SELL THE REST!

Mbappe's carried his team to where, still no UCL, even with the team built around him, Leao has only managed 8 gs and 10 assists, for a poor AC Milan team, only 14 gs and 14 assists, for a (what many would say) "top/world class winger", you need more than just 1 player to get you to the elite hights

I agree with everything you said, except for Shaw. When he is fit he is gold for United and Rashford (who you are keeping) improves his game. If you are getting rid of Shaw, then Rashford has to go. So Shaw bench not sell. That gives a squad of seventeen. So you get that starting CB and CDM partner for Mainoo, get a winger who feeds the striker. Then I think you have a strong core and can fill out with youth. So 15 out, 4 in and 4 chances from the youth to round out the squad. If all 15 go that wage bill will be down enough to really look for the quality players to push the first team on.

I agree fully with those choices, although for me Kambwala is also on the keep list - the keep list is who we build the team around over the next couple seasons, and bring in new players to complement them and move the team forward. It'll take a couple seasons as I don't see us selling everyone we need to sell, and certainly not buying the replacements we need to buy. Recruitment will get much better from this summer onwards given there's going to be an actual structure getting put in place.

Marcus doesn't deserve to be abused no one does Objectively speaking I think he should move on not just because of the hot and cold nature of his performances but because its the best thing for both sides Right now if you keep Marcus you can't bench him consistently because the media and fans will hyperfocus on Marcus being benched and depending on whether we are winning or not will either abuse or criticise him for us winning without him or they will put unnecessary pressure on the team to start him (and when I say winning I mean literally the span of 1 or 2 games not even a long stretch) For someone whose mental health has been put at risk and the level of scrutiny united gets, he needs to find a more relaxed environment to enjoy his football again and also united get to move on and build without the rashford PR team on its back (this includes fans and media not just rashford employees)

I love Marcus Rashford. I understand that he wasn’t good this year and sometimes it looks like he isn’t trying… but I love that man. He’s Manchester United. Don't get me wrong he has contributed well at times, but to call him Manchester United? Keane, Robson, Rooney were Manchester United. Rashford graduated from the academy and had a brilliant season last year and has contributed goals to the team. 13 players on the sell list - that looks like 3 or 4 transfer windows to clear all of them out. Onana - I'm in the keep camp, although my choice as a replacement for de Gea would have been Martinez from Villa, I think he's a quality keeper. Onana has certainly improved as the season has gone on, but I wonder how much of the discrepancy between shots faced and goals conceded has been due to wayward shooting from our opponents. Rashford - it's difficult. He has so much talent, but for most of this season he just didn't seem interested, and that's not good enough. On the plus side, I don't recall him having two poor seasons in a row, so that gives me hope for next season. A front line of an in-form Rashford, Hojlund, and Amad could do some damage. That said, if he is a late entry into the England squad and has a good tournament, PSG might present a decent offer, in which case I would be very tempted to accept it.

To be honest when I think about who I would like to see still in the squad in 2-3yrs time, there is only 6 players that I would be happy to stay. Onana, Martinez, Mainoo, Bruno, Hojlund and Garnacho. I think thats a decent core and only players in the team that are intelligent enough on the field to play for United, maybe Garnacho needs to improve there but I put him cause hes esentially free and is a very young player, if he doesn't live to expectation and doesn't grow to a level that is required for United thats easy money for us

Appreciate the video Ste but the only reason to keep Antony, Rashford and Casemiro is their value and current contracts. Cant defend Rashford while speaking facts on the other two. You say you want to be ruthless then stop acting like Marcus is a 20 yo on 50k per week. He's arguably also part of the player fc issues. And of course he plays better with Shaw in, who wouldn't. All players play better with better players around them. Is this United or not? Also, like to see the part 2 evaluating the list vs actual contract scenarios, and depth chart. With the amount of guaranteed outs, it will be easier to being some talent in to challenge the players on the fence.

If Lindelof does end up staying, I'd like to see him be tried as a defensive midfielder a bit in games were we might hold the ball more. Also, McTominay should most probably stay, with so many changes, need a few players who are just good professionals, if we were in a state where we only needed few changes selling good squad options and replace with higher quality players might be a reliable move, but with so many changes, it's better to keep some good characters even if they are just squad options to assimilate newcomers with good examples around, especially when we need more workhorses instead of big money divas and fill the holes in squad options.

@@lexxihd5843 McTominay is a squad player, and I am in no form of confidence in going in next season trusting just Mount and Bruno's backup when Bruno is turning over 30 and Mount has this horrendous injury record and McTominay being a no nonsense player more than happy to sit on the bench and come off it, his professionalism garnered him enough trust from multiple managers, I'd rather use him this season as a safety net as a physical option, and see if Mount can salvage it or do we need to sell Mount after 2 years of being unavailable. I can understand selling McTominay if we had a clear cut option in squad or were sure we can get another better Attacking midfielder of physical sorts and weren't needing transfers in too many other positions, but not when other positions are priority and attacking isn't priority

Onana has faced the most shots ion the league because we are poor defensively so obviously he is gonna make more saves, but that stat doesnt tell the story. Personally I'd keep Amrabat. Yes he has been a huge disappointment, but for £15m, I dont know if there is better value for a CM. It feels like a Sabitzer transfer. Just do it for the depth. I hope INEOS get it right, but with all the news coming out, regarding ETH job, ans ashworth breaking contract. I feel it is going to be a wild few months at the club.

Really feels like you go in way too harsh on Garnacho Ste Garnacho has assisted Hoijlund more than any other player this season and has the 3rd highest amount of crosses attempted behind Bruno and Dalot. Less selfish than Rashford or Antony. Same age at a decent Man United, Ronaldo manager 9 goals and 9 assists in 50 games. Garnacho is doing a fantastic job given the circumstances.

4 home grown players with this plan. Agree Maguire is not United kind of player but links with Branthwaite is scary because he is Maguire in making - slow, plays low block and not worth money. If Tosin joins then the home grown quota gets filled. Maybe buy Mengi from Luton who are relegated. In the end continuing with ETH makes sense but the noise about players being unhappy should be from one of the homegrown player/s only. Replacing ETH now will give credence to the player power and most of the players on your sell list end up staying. Regarding Rashford - To an extent he relies on Shaw but he is not a player who performs for possession based, build up from back teams - which United wants to achieve. The seasons where he contributed were when team abandoned build from back and looked at counter attacking football. Last season after 2 games, ETH had to abandon build from back approach because the current players are not suited for this play including Bruno. If INEOS wants possession based approach then they need to get rid of all players except Liccha, Onana, Dalot, Mount, Hojlund and academy youngsters (Mainoo, Garnacho etc.)

I think Aaron is a Bench for me he will definitely be a good backup for Dalot . MR is a good player but not a Hungry player and that can be evidenced in the amount of hat tricks he's had even in his most prolific season. I agree on Bench for him if he can up his hunger otherwise he should go already

We have lost 10 players with first team experience in the last two summer transfer windows, and replaced them with half the numbers each time. If we do the same this year, it will be madness. as this has seriously depleted our squad.. While we agree, selling / or losing a few players is necessary and inevitable, we seriously have to be realistic , and only lose what we can replace ( and we don't tend to buy more than 6 players in a window at a time).... Better to see this as a phasing out , than a rebuilt in one window. So lets be realistic. Otherwise, we will be using the thin squad reason for our failure next season. A new management team will be over-whelmed to make these changes so soon. Plus, they also have to look at buying for the youth and women's teams as well. This is a tough ask .

Can’t see that many going/ coming in. So i’d probably bench Wan Bissaka, Shaw, McTominay and maybe even Antony. Think actually McTominay is my hardest bench there. Don’t think he minds being a back up, works hard, seems grounded and plays «all over». As Solskjaer said: U know what you’re going to get. Again, as a backup.

Malacia makes sense to keep at least another year. If Malacia has a poor season or another injury stricken spell then I would move him on. I think that its important we dont hold onto players that over a two season spell dont show anything. Every player in the squad should be purpose fit for their role and we should be ruthless about moving on players that cant contribute. I would sell Scott as much as I kind of like him, I think he'd tear it up a club down the table and he has market value still. Garnacho is one of those players that has been overplayed this season and hes been frustrating, I think hes one of those players that really needs a good coach to build into an effective winger because he has incredible attributes. I honestly feel like the club might very well keep Maguire and move on Lindelof, Lindelof to me is the classic case of a player that we could have moved on once we saw what he was about.

Clearly a LB, 2xCB's and 2 CM's are needed. A second striker is also essential but we are top heavy in terms of players worth keeping than the middle and defence. Exciting to see how we line up next season but also the inevitable stress of a Utd summer transfer looms.

I think Rashy has the potential to be a top player. But similar to Marital in a way, we have a large enough sample size of seasons to know he's too inconsistent. I'm not against keeping him, but i think the pros of the amount of money we could sell him for outweigh cons of losing him in an already stacked position

I think you bench Shaw. If he can stay healthy (maybe by playing less) he is useful. Amrabat may be worth the 15 mil and will hurt less to sell Mctominay. Rashford won’t accept being benched. I think you keep him but only if he’s willing to make the changes he needs to make. He’s a LW. That’s it. Garnacho needs time to develop so I think for one more year this could work, but Rashford needs to play good to either retake the spot or play for the opportunity to play for a Barca or real on his next team.

Eth should be the first to to because he isn't picking the team off natural selection and that is the best player available for that position or giving player a chance who will compete against his favorites even if they are poor performers or injured. Alvaro Fernandez couldn't have done worst than whoever played at left back for us this season and eth let him go knowing that shaw and malacia were injured. He been fighting against players through the academy

I'd not mind keeping Shaw as backup to Martinez but I don't think his body can cope with the rigours of being a modern full-back anymore. He's shown he can do a good job as a LCB and I don't think he'd fetch much with his injury record. With that said I'd get rid of Lindelof as he's not a progressive centre back.

I agree on Rashford - his inconsistency is a big concern and we need to investigate and properly understand the link he has with his supporting LB but to outright replace him will cost 80+ million and will come with its own set of risks too. Given the other work needed on the squad id keep him and focus the effort elsewhere. Now come back and talk to me if we get an offer of $90+ million for him and also a properly scouted replacement at the same cost is also on the market and willing to come.....
