This is weird to me, *NO* McDonald's I've ever gone to in the last six or so years has mixed the contents of McFlurrys. I thought at this point they didn't even have the mixing machine. My dad and I always called them McLazy's, lol. Kind of sad to know they still have the machine and no location across the states ever uses it. :(

Meanwhile every location i know just mixes it by hand and gives it to you with the oreos chilling on the top like u ordered ice cream with Oreo pieces on top like an old fashion icecream store with toppings... they should just rename it "deconstructed mcflurries", raise the price and serve it in a purple beret, call it a day... For anyone talking about the mixer machine. We use a different method where we jab and fold with the spoon I believe 6 times. For obvious reasons it saves money to do it that way rather than have extra equipment.

Just find a McDonald’s in a rural area. It’s less likely to break down because they are less likely to have a service person close enough. Sounds counterintuitive but the machine maker is profiting from service and transportation costs to rural restaurants eat into profits so they keep those running with less service required.

You should come to my state, every McDonald's I've been too and ordered a mcflurry or ice cream, it always works, and I get my flurry/ice cream. Only once in my life has ever said "Ice cream is broken". Maybe it's just my luck or what but if it's my luck, well then, I'm very lucky lol

I’ve rarely seen anyone use the mixer machines. When they use it, I’ve seen them spray ice cream on themselves. They often do it by hand. Likely this was a great idea in theory, but McDonald’s should have invented something else by now.

I dont think they have an issue with making them, but the issue is cleaning the machine. From what I see it is a very long (4 hour process that is done everyday) to clean the machines, so the workers dont want to clean it, or they had already turned it off in order to clean it and just tell guests then that its broken

True story I was making an M&M Flurry at the McDs I worked for. The mix in dispenser was filled up but not assembled properly. So when I yanked the handle there was an avalanche!! It literally looked like I had won the M&M jackpot 😆😆

The transition is my favorite. Of course, there's no way to close the store. It's a science haha. The kitchen is preparing for lunch while still serving breakfast. You need to balance the breakfast stock so that waste is kept to a minimum while everyone gets what they ordered.
