After watching this series a couple of times over I have concluded that Stephen is at his best when he isn't so cocky and Mal is at her best when she is under pressure. That is why she keeps doing badly in practice and then wins in the actual recording.

Stephen, you actually could block that red shell with a bomb. You had to let it go early when you were sure it was lined up behind you and then you could explode that red shell without that explosion hurting you, thus being able to not get hurt

That was probably the most intense episode out there yet. At least in my opinion. All what you should expect to happen in Mario Kart happens here. On that note, don't ever brag out loud about how good you are in order to raise your hopes when you play this game, because when you're recording, it pretty much goes the opposite way. That IS the LP curse.

They did say they would revisit the series, but the way Stephen and Mal sounded this episode, it seems like the true determination will be after Wii finishes. After the first race in this episode, I switched over to Team Stephen 'cause I felt bad for you. XD; I was thinking that being good at the DS game doesn't mean you'd dominate on the DS course, since the controls and physics is still Mario Kart Wii controls and physics. I'm great at the N64 Diddy Kong Racing Hovercraft, but terrible at the DS one. Perhaps Mal's practice compared to recording ability means that she's very good at learning?

Here's how it works: For a series victory for Mal: 2 more pure victories OR 3 more ties For a series victory for Stephen: Win the remaining 4 OR win 3/4 and tie 1. Anything less either results in a series tie, or victory for Mal. So, STEPHEN MUST WIN 3 OUT OF THE NEXT 4 OR HE CAN'T CLAIM THE SERIES

Mario Kart is 60% skill, 40% luck. Mal is extremely lucky, and Stephen concentrates a lot on the commentary and talks the most, losing skill because he thinks more about the audience and less about the game than he usually would during practice - which is honestly nice of him. Put all this together... yeah, Mal is probably winning this series, unless luck turns around big time.
