Oooof, re-watching this game after 100% at launch it's so clever how it lays this out. Kan has always been fantastic at structuring stories in such a fascinating way. Even though it might feel like a cop out that this story is told chronologically instead of in reverse or in a spiral like the last two games, it's still able to throw you through a loop or two. Get ready to be 'to the mooned' all over again.

Plot twists and surprises are most effective when they're set up well. This game series is great at that.

It's been less than twenty-four hours since my grandmother passed away. I'm currently traveling internationally to visit other relatives and have been told by her children (my dad and my aunts) not to rush home because that's not what she would've wanted. She lived a long life, but her last few years were clouded by severe dementia to the point that her personality severely changed and she no longer recognized her own children, much less me. The physical distance I am to home right now is making it a much harder struggle to process the news, and I am realizing maybe I have already been mourning her for years as her mind wasn't completely there anymore. Lynri's conversation with her dad broke me. The distance of the stars and how they continue to shine so brightly long after they're gone reminds me of my grandmother right now. Memories keep flooding back of how she was pre-dementia, her love of dogs, picking me up from school, her love of fashion, her walks with me (being too fast for my tiny steps), her paintings... I hope she is in a better place right now, free from pain and suffering, with the stars.

That stargazing scene definitely got me choked up, since it's something my dad and I did a few times when I was a kid. Speaking of stargazing with a loved one who has since passed on, this is reminding me of something Neil said in To The Moon.... 🤔

I was relieved to see the family memories after how strange the stuff before has been. Even if it paints the way for a coming sadness. The buliding had the vibe of the World 7 Palace in Paper Mario N64 or Palace of Shadow fountain temple with the kind of mysterious music that can only bring the feeling of the creeps.

I have a suspicion about the two different Lynri’s Quincy is seeing, I also have a feeling I know where Quincy is. Beyond that though, I have no idea what is going on but this game is extremely intriguing and I’m very eager to find out.

I can already sense that this game is preparing to emotionally destroy me. Finding Paradise was one of the only games to have ever made me cry, and at this rate I’m expecting the same from this one.
