I had the opportunity to work with Jim on this symphony in high school (Bass Clarinet), a week before the pandemic hit. The ending to this movement under his baton had me tearing up. The rehearsal was positively one of the most influential moments in my musical career. It was a gateway for me to begin becoming invested in concert pieces for something more than the ink on the page. I can't describe how much this piece has impacted my life and my ability to connect with music. Thank you Jim, for your outstanding personality and pedagogy.

I attended a performance of this piece and the recording of this piece does not do a live attendance justice. The ending is one of the most amazing things I've ever heard, in a good auditorium, it is LOUD haha

No recording can ever compete with a live performance.

I'm right next to the timpani and the tuba at the end and it is so much louder in real life

We’re playing this in rehearsal and the low brass is just way to loud, this recording seriously got nothing on the real preformance
