Lol any exercise, regardless what it is, when you haven't done something in years, and you overdo an exercise you havent done in years, your body is gonna tell you and yell at you very quickly things you don't wanna hear lol. But thankfully you made it back home. Eventually you'll be able to match or surpass Mal in riding, but it will take time Stephen... Maybe talk to people at a local bike shop if you have one nearby so they can give you advice on how to be comfortable while riding the bike. It is normal to get really tired when you are doing a new type of exercise, I have experienced that a lot trying to exercise more after turning 30, but you shouldn’t torture yourself with a bike set up that is uncomfortable. I hope you have an easier time in the future!

I would visit a bike shop to get better bike seat that suits you. Size and yes preference are important factors for good bike seat. With good bike seat it would also be easier on your hands because you wouldn't need to lean as much forward to relieve pain/pressure from sitting on uncomfortable seat. Though I still like gloves for riding. Just my personal experience as casual rider

I know this is almost a month old at this point but your butt definitely gets used to the seat as you keep doing it. That said, might be worth going to your local bike shop and getting a fitting done. Both bike fit and seat fit can help tremendously.
