I started a Harry Styles journey just a couple weeks ago. It was a pure accident; clicked some recommendation on the list and ended up listening him all night. Started with popular music videos, then first live performances, then some fan-fic (and left that pretty soon, can't stand it, has nothing to do w/ his music), interviews and some 1D stuff. Bought both his albums, listened them on one take and was blown away by his talent.. and wanted more. What finally convinced me was his recorded live performances. He is a great songwriter, poetic and subtle with his lyrics, and IMO far more intelligent than people assume him to be in general. His love for music is almost palpable, and even though he is a great entertainer of masses, I think he is at his best on situations like this right here: relatively small audience, great band, just love for music and an atmosphere that allows to create such captivating performance. I truly wish I could some day see him performing live. In my living room, preferably.

Welcome to the fam, I've been here since he released Sign of the times, what caught me was his big performances where he is just taken by the music and the audience, he feels the moment and his own art through his veins. The contrast between interview Harry and performer Harry is massive and kinda reminds me of how Freddie Mercury used to be (just to clarify age, I'm 18 but I became a Queen fan at 14 and a Harry one at 16, I really needed to make that comparison). If you want to read very insightful interviews, look up for the Rolling Stone ones, there's like three of them. My favorite are the ones with Rob Sheffield, Harry and him are like friends so there's no awkwardness between them. Finally, as someone who's a fanfic reader and basically a "teenage fangirl", I understand where you're coming from. I hope you can find your place and befriend some fans, it can ocasionally get pretty divisive though, everyone can get blinded by their passion. But in the end we all love Harry the same! Hope you'll see him live one day as I wish as well. Keep enjoying your journey, hun, here's to more Harry's great music ✨

Less drama, more talk about music. Still, I understand that Harry's captivating persona and character is a treasure chest for fan fiction, especially he is so private person. I am not immune to that, either: I often find myself pondering about the deeper meanings of his lyrics. I feel there is nothing that is straightforward there. I totally agree what you said about the performer-Harry and the interview-Harry, he is sooo different! I think that he is so called "social introvert", quite reserved with strangers but when performing he can put on his role of entertainer. I relate to it strongly.
