I think we just need to take a moment to appreciate the following, even though I'm writing this 5 years later: ~ The drummer - whether that's Sarah or not I'm not sure - is absolutely killing it. Round of applause please. ~ The overall vibe during the performance ~ Harry's voice. It's raw and unfiltered, and this performance - in my opinion - is one of those rare instances where you can't say "it's autotune." because I've seen him live, and believe me, it's not. He's simply an angelically talented individual, and he deserves a heck load of respect. Absolutely beautiful.

To be honest, I wasn’t really a huge 1D fan and never really paid attention to the individual singers when they were a group. They sang catchy tunes that’s for sure, but oh boy how much I regretted because when they went on their own directions and found their own voice, I learned to love and respect them as individual artists, but Harry, Harry caught my heart and soul when he turned to be such a fine and talented man. His songs, the meaning behind the lyrics, his individuality, he is pure art.

Sure. But you should definitely give a listen to other 1D members. They make great music too specially Louis and Niall...Louis' "Walls" album is an absolute masterpiece. U will also find many beautiful lyrics with deep meanings in it. Also, I know Harry deserves everything he has. But can't deny that other 1D members are underrated af specially Louis. Also, in his 1D days, Harry and Zayn were the most famous no matter it was not their fault but I think people didnt/don't give other members enough credit. Louis' songwriting skills are also on a whole next level. He is jus simply amazing!

I wish I could go back and listen to them with fresh ears! I'm sure you had heard a few of their most popular songs and just didn't know who sung them. Bc there are a few that radio stations play religiously. I just turned 21 so I'm only a few years older than you but I was raised on them. They are my favorite band of all time. @@pissfarts9532 Yup that's exactly why the media has always loved him and pushed for his solo career even in the beginning of One Direction. Zayn objectively was the best singer of them, but Harry had all the charisma and the 'it' factor to make a star. Rihanna has an interview from early 2010s talking about Harry, she was gushing over one of interviews saying his star quality just comes natural to him. And he was a teenager. I think it's a really interesting thing to look at, because despite him not being the most gifted voice or the best looking, (objectively it's Zayn) charisma and hard work will always get you the furthest. Zayn was always quiet and anxious and took a backseat from the limelight a lot.

I feel he knew that he could easily have gone the basic pop route that the other guys took (not to say that was a bad decision on their part) and become extremely successful, but it's become clear that he wants to do music his way. His talent and taste have really come through, and though I wasn't a huge one direction fan, I am definitely ready to see where Harry takes the rest of his music career.

to be fair zayn and niall didn't but louis and liam very much did. i see improvements with zayn, niall, and harry in their musical abilities, but liam and louis are a bit stagnant. That's my opinion though. liam has a great voice but his songs don't show his voice off and louis's doing the basic pop.

Thank you for saying that. I get that Liam likes hip hop/rap style of music, but I don't think his voice suits it that well. He has such a great voice and talent. I'm hoping that at some point he realizes that and maybe shifts to a more R&B vibe or something where he can showcase his talent.

To y'all complaining, do you want classic rock music to die? He is bringing it back and letting younger generations discover it and I think that's really cool plus he’s friends with fleetwood mac and they love him.
@alexchristie43667 жыл бұрын
Sarah Jan people who make decent music and actually sound like bands from the 70s have no chance because cunts like him go on the xfactor give a sob story and have ghost writers putting in the hard work most people can sing but how many can actually write a decent tune and make it big without getting fisted by Simon cowell
@user-gn3uj1ul8y7 жыл бұрын
Alex Christie so many lies there. Please do your research. First of all sob story? When? Didnt know he had a sob story. Be glad he brings classic rock to a younger music generation. Someone gotta do it. Through him people will meet other classic rock bands. Calm your tits therefore. Oh and btw he isnt signed by simon for almost two years now. And he writes his own stuff too dickhead. He wrote stuff in 1d and he wrote this with some cowriters like his friend mitch and other people. 1d were the only boyband to actually write their own songs. They wrote their own songs since 2013. So my conclusion: all your points are invalid. Done bad research. So therefore you're biased. Thank you.

Alex Christie his album is gold in just 3 months.... his single is even being discussed for a grammy nomination. So yes he does make decent music.
@sareen91687 жыл бұрын
Alex Christie Your point is invalid bc a lot bands that "sound" like the 70s get recognized him being on the x factor has has nothing to do with the fact that he always has wanted to make music and never had a sob story. Like being said 1d has written most their songs besides the first album when they were just getting started. His most recent solo album was all written by himself/band, you should check it out since you have no idea what your saying.

Harry is the main/first-listed writer on every song on his album. The lead guitar player in this video was his main co-writer. There are no covers on the album. However this particular show, BBC1 Live Lounge, seems to require artists do both originals and covers. In this case they wanted a cover from the last 50 years and Harry choose an iconic song by a band he idolizes.

Well, true singers can sing almost anything, surely. I'm not a young fan of his or One Direction but I don't think it's a great stretch from what he usually does. When One Direction were in the competition that launched them, didn't they have to sing songs with a variety of vocal difficulty?

I haven't listened to his album but judging by how fantastic this is, perhaps I should. But it makes me wonder even more what the hell he was doing with all that bubblegum boy band crap before...
@amymbeauty87656 жыл бұрын
tchocky71 I don't think you can judge someone saying, well true singers can sing anything. Not true at all! Most singers sing in their specific style, keeping generally with their own sound. Yes they did have to do many styles during the show, I imagine, I wasn't a young fan of them, however, as a group it's much easier to front run the top singers in that group or put one as the focal if the style suits them and not the others so it's not easy to tell what his style really could've been during those years. And honestly he's a much more talented singer now than he was then. I don't think we started to see his real style and individualness until 1D's last album which yes, he sounded way more in this style of music which makes sense on why he's so good at it. Anyway, I just don't think you can say, if they're a true singer, they can sing anything. Sorry if that was written weird, it's late and I'm tired lol.

Okay so heres the thing. I genuinely respect Harry as an artist and human being. As an artist, everything that you put out into the world is going to be judged and there are going to be opinions. The thing that I love about Harry is everything comes from a pure place in his soul. He has courage, he takes risks, and he's always learning and growing. He doesn't create to be praised or recognized. He creates and does things because he finds them meaningful and to make others feel things, embarking on a journey, a very human kind of journey. He is true to himself, he is grounded in his heart, and he's in it because he cares. He has a mind that has things to say. It takes guts to do what he does and he does it with class and unique character. Sure, this cover may not surpass the original, its not meant to. This cover came from a beautiful place and it's making people have conversations. It gets us talking about the deeper and more powerful things that music can get us in touch with. I look forward to following Harry's career. He isn't anyone but himself and every other artist that has ever lived is an individual. Let's appreciate what the individuals bring to us. Harry is doing a lot of things right and from a place of both humility and confidence and that's inspiring. He isn't afraid to be different and he isn't afraid of stepping outside of the box. This opens up doorways that are far more real and prosperous than the conventional ones. Harry makes people smile and his personality/who he is as a human being is really something special. It shines through in his work and in how he goes about his work.

(You're also disagreeing with Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney, who have sang Harry's praises). Upon seeing negativity in the comments for him, I wanted to point this out.

I think it's more of an opinion than anything else to be honest.. I admire his talent and he a good musician for sure but this just doesn't work for me, although I'm a die hard Fleetwood Mac fan so I very rarely take well to any of their songs being covered. A lot of that comes down to the chemistry that Fleetwood Mac had on stage, the tension was always electric and I just don't feel like anyone else can capture that same chemistry on stage when playing their songs.

spyroXcynder1000 i can see why you thought would’ve he ruined it. Zayn, Liam, Louis - they all took the pop route, and they’re all a part of One Direction. artists usually tend to get inspiration from their own sound when they do covers, and seeing that Harry came from a pop band, he would’ve turned it into a pop song. but Harry was always a fan of country, rock, indie, etc.. so his music will be around that genre when performing. heck, he even changed his band’s song What Makes You Beautiful into rock during his tour. this cover is truly amazing, i agree that this is my favorite cover.

Wow! Just wow! I am 56 and was already a fan of yours since your debut album. This cover is amazing! I am a big FM fan and went to their concerts and your version is excellent! You are really full of surprises!

Harry's fandom is amazing. Everyone is sooo supportive, I am honored to be a part of you lot. Great influence on all of us. Well done Mr Styles.

I agree most of us would fall under that description but sadly there are those who are just.. not. There are some that cannot come to terms with the fact that he doesn’t label his sexuality and try to force him into relationships with other people while they’ve both denied the relationship. Ig what I’m getting at is that some Harry stans and directioners are really toxic and honestly disrespectful

@@everythingevelyn3159 i think it quite annoying as well like just let them live their lives no need to focus on ones sexuality so much

@@everythingevelyn3159 if ur talking about the Larry Stylison thing some ppl believe it but most ppl don’t take it too seriously (coming from a directioner who ships them but not seriously just as a joke)
@everythingevelyn31592 жыл бұрын
@@fancyali3923 I am talking about Larry lol. I don’t mind the shippers like you but the people that try to force it on them and make every little thing about them and believe every other relationship they’ve been in are fake just rub me in the wrong way. Even if it was/is real, them constantly commenting isn’t helping what with management seeing it and then further separating them. I used to ship Larry so I understand why you would and no hate to people like you who are good about it

I was really afraid he'd oversing this but damn, he knew when to go all in, when to keep his cool. This guy deserves way more credit than I've given him so far.
