Amazing solo, I think that Smith’s solos are more interesting than Gers’s and Murray’s soloing. It’s melodic, shreddy and kinda bluesy, just love it! And I think that Smith is really better at “serving the song” than others Maiden guitarists

agree since young listening heavily on Iron Maiden I intuitively liked Adrian's solos the most, even though at that time it was not super easy to know who was playing what exactly!

I've always liked the way Adrian's solos add to the song and don't go off on a tangent with loads of unnecessary notes,.. Adrian has always been more of a songwriter than Dave or Janick and it shows in his solos a top top musician he is.

Dude your playing style reminds me a lot of Brian May, like the way you hold your pick and move your picking hand and how your fretting fingers move as well. Its really cool, you play like one of my favourite guitarists while playing my favourite bands music.

Ok in one of the licks (2:22) doesn't the 22 fret goin into major sound a bit weird. I've never noticed it before listening to the song but now when I slow it down I kind of hear it too. I don't know anymore. Is my mind playing tricks on me?
@StephLeGratteux
@StephLeGratteux 4 жыл бұрын
You mean the 21? I think it sounds weird too, but as it was like that in the original, I play it like that. The other times, the 20th fret is played and it sounds better because not off scale (I truly believe it was a mistake in the original and they let it like that lol)

Please dont hate me, - but did you get this from the tab book, or figure it by ear? - I've seen in live shows he plays the part at bar 25, by holding 2 on the e and hammering 4-0 on the b; then moving to 3e/5b; then 5e/7b; and 7e/8b... - Not sure if he changed this up after many years and you've got the studio-version, or if it's just your preference.

This is very strange because I remember thinking that note was out of scale (and also it would have been easier to play the lick with the 20 instead of the 21), but this was what I heard on the original...
