Honestly the amount of men who leave their wives when they find out they have cancer and “trade them in for younger models.” Like the dad is gross.
@springlady8337
@springlady8337 Жыл бұрын
@@gingerisevil02 Well, that’s technically not correct. The dad and mom in this movie divorced well before she had cancer. She found out she had cancer and kept it a secret for a year while going through treatment then when it came back she decided to tell her family. He got into a relationship with the younger woman before he knew she was sick.

It really is good acting because I couldn't stand the characters teenage angst even though I was the same age she was in this movie when I watched it and came from the exact same broken home.... I could never talk to my Mum or Dad like that. (As though the movie didn't mirror my life enough, I lost my Mum to Cancer last year. I didn't take the anger I felt over knowing she was dying out on her though)

Theres never the right time to tell someone you have cancer ..I know Anna is an emotional girl, but it's her mother's right not to tall about it too.
@TheEuzkatroika
@TheEuzkatroika Жыл бұрын
let's see she is angry, not because of the hidden lie, that her mother has not told her anything about cancer, she is extremely sad, because she knows that cancer is deadly, and that is the reason for her attitude, not because Her mother hasn't said anything to her, it's more because she knows she's going to die, and that's why her rage, her anger, her resentment at not being able to help, her pain... Her pain makes her look like a rebellious girl, but in reality she feels what is going to happen..She loves her mother..

If you understand this girl probably had to listen to her parents argue for a long time. Then handle a divorce and by how they fought in the movie. Then had to ha dle him getting with another woman then hers about her father marrying another woman then her mother gets cancer something her aunt had and suffered and died. so it makes sense for her to react this way I can imagine in that moment she felt her whole stomach cave in and her blood shaking and feeling ice cold. So heartbreaking.

Growing up this was my favorite movie because it's my mom's favorite movie too. Even when kids would ask me what my favorite movie was I'd say this one and kids my age wouldn't know it but my mom and I loved Julia Robert's. Anyway growing up I used to think wow, Anna was so rude and disrespectful. And then my mom got cancer when I was 20. I was the third person my mom told because I was working and I didnt see the missed calls. I get it now. When you hold such a special and deep relationship with your best friend who is also your mother it's like someone is telling you that you're going to die too. Its anger and guilt and fear so powerful it makes your knees week.

BARBIE JONES Make videos for them. Write them letters for the future. Prepare some gifts (handmade or unique is best) that will make them smile. They may not remember your face but they’ll always associate happiness and love with you because of how you made them feel. Don’t forget your kids. Even though they’re adults they’re still gonna miss you terribly and need your guidance every now and then. I wish someone had done the same for me. Be well in your final days. I hope you find peace.

Bradley Sutherland. thank you so much.. I'm very blessed to have been able to be there the day they were born, (their 15 month old twin girls, and my son has met and moved in with this young lady who has a son the same age as my girls and I told her he is as much my grandson as my girls are my granddaughters because I don't believe in steps, steps are what's outside) I've thought about doing a journal for all of them.. my husband will not accept the fact there is no cure for my cancer, the only one who can help me is god.. I don't know how to make him accept this.. what do I do
@RachBW898
@RachBW898 6 жыл бұрын
BARBIE JONES A journal is a lovely idea. Try adding some hand drawn images or some pictures you choose to make it more personal. Add some poems or words of encouragement. Tell your story and always remember to include your feelings. No one wants to accept that someone they love is dying and their is nothing they can do. It’s not your job to make him accept it but you can prepare for when your gone. Make sure he has the opportunity for closure. Sit down with him and recall some good memories. Try to make some new ones. Be honest with him. Tell him if you’re scared, happy, or upset. This is your opportunity to be upfront. If he can’t accept what is coming then put it aside and just be with him. Show your family how much you love them. Let them show you how much they love you. Make your time together matter. Remember to say I love you.

At 9 years old I thought it was very disrespectful for Ana to say those words to her parents but now I am 23 I would definitely say something or much worse knowing now how complex emotions but also not be giving the opportunity to celebrate the end of life at a slow pace instead of a sudden pace like what her mother just did. And like Ana myself I don’t like to rushed which is why Ana broke down even more because instead of her mother telling her first diagnosis she told towards the late stage of the cancer knowing it will be harder to treat therefore not giving Ana to process everything on her own pace rather within a month or two.

I know that she doesn't have colon cancer, but this is a PSA.... Colon cancer is on the rise.... they are seeing it more in people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Please, if you feel something is wrong, get a colonospy. Even if you don't have anything wrong, get a colonospy. Early detection is seriously the key. My mom was diagnosed two years ago, and it has been such a rough and horrible battle. There's a lot of shame and embarrassment around this cancer, but please get tested. Don't be embarrassed. Especially if you're having symptoms or things, just don't feel right, and if a doctor doesn't listen to you, go to somebody else. My mom went to so many doctors. And by the time they found out and took her seriously, she was already in stage 3. Please spread the word to your family and friends.
