OMG! I cried so much in this video, cause I understand what Adam feels! I am 30 years old, and took me 20 something years to acept me as gay, and I didn't come out yet, cause my family wouldn't acept it, principally my father! So I was in some times of my life so depressed that I needed help from professionals. Even now with 30 years old I don't have friends and I don't leave that much home cause I can't socialize because I don't feel good. :( Every time I try to get into a relationship, the other guy betrays me or stop talking with me without explaining. I wish I could have a boyfriend one day that I can say, you are my best friend, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you! I hope that your days will get better sooner Adam! :)

As someone constantly battling with PTSD, I believe that this is one of the bravest videos that I have seen out there. I am very glad that Adam has decided to work on his addiction. And, it is very heart touching to see Bernado acting as a supporter and a gentle lover being there for his husband (often enough we are not the best partner to our lover in this kind of situation).

Adam, think how far you've come already and with the love surrounding you, you WILL come out the other end a happier and healthier person. Bernardo, I hope you as well will seek some counseling to also help you. I say this as sometimes we blind ourselves to the issues someone we love is having. At times, we become the enabler as all we want is for the person we love to be happy. In the end you both end up feeling the pain. Your love for one another is undeniable. Be strong! Be Safe! Just had a similar experience with marijuana. Smoked on in off for almost 8 years and it really affected my mental health. I used it to cope and numb my traumas/feelings. Just officially gave it up as of two weeks ago. Started talking to a psychotherapist and psychiatrist. Now I'm on antidepressants and I'm really seeing a change. Thank you so much for talking about this and normalizing seeking help. Its never easy, but it makes reaching your full potential possible. Best of luck and thanks again for sharing!!

I sensed something was a miss given the absence of seeing your vlogs. I hope you will continue with the vlog Bernardo and lets us know how you are doing in Adam's absence. In this video Adam seems very very mello, and probably under the influence. It wasn't a good idea to also be drinking wine and particularly if he was also taking medications. His acknowledgement of the addiction is the first step. I have helped many clients through their mental health issues, but it takes perseverance and commitment on the part of the client. Be careful Bernardo that you do not become an enabler. There are free supports groups for both of you and it will help if you (Bernardo) start to attend a few while Adam is in Florida. You will find others in the same position as you Bernardo. Adam is very wounded and there is likely a relapse in Adam's future, even after rehab. Watch for the signs and don't let him try to escape from the things he needs to face. Thousands of people care about the two of you.

My heart dropped when you guys said you have some bad news. I was like what is going on. First of all, I want to say that the love that you share Bernardo and Adam is beyond words. Your love story is truly an inspiration. As as gay man who struggles in the dating world when I watch your videos it reminds me that falling in love, getting married, and growing old with someone is still possible. As cliche as I made that sound it’s so true. Secondly, Adam, I commend you for acknowledging that something needs to change and taking action by seeking treatment. As someone that works in a profession where I work with a lot of treatment providers I understand how addiction is a disease. But substance abuse does not have to be debilitating. I am happy for all the positive comments you have about this transition. You don't know how a couple of guys that you don't know who are practically strangers can change the lives of others. I divorced 8 years ago and I was hopeless to finding love and an amazing man to share my life with. One day I watched one of your videos and I started following you when you were in Brazil, suddenly I found the sweetest couple I have ever seen. Bernardo a sweet man, loving and funny man, with great feelings. Adam a guy with a beautiful and humble heart, naive and with great sweetness. Good luck to you both and this is one of the reasons why I love watching you both. You don't hold back, you speak of things where others would squirm. Addiction is nothing to be affaird of. Heck I went to a life coach for about 2 years, at first I wasn't comfortable saying where I was going but then once I got better and realized what others think have no effect on me its just their own opinion I was ok saying it.

Good morning, Your both very brave for sharing your story. I have been sober for 1 year, 43 weeks and 3 days today. The realization that trauma was the roots of my addiction is the largest stepping stone in my recovery. To be able to forgive, thank and eventually release that trauma will be a weight off all addicts minds. To hear you say "we can do this" is heartwarming. I know your message will help so many who continue to struggle in the darkness that shame, pain, guilt and remorse bring. Thanks for sharing. Adam, tente não se cobrar tanto nessa internação, com a culpa que crescemos temos essa tendência a nos punir por não conseguir "chegar lá", vá com calma e faça tudo no seu tempo e com as forças que dispor no momento.
