Fujifilm Finepix Z90 Digital Camera - It's Not A Sony!

The video and audio quality at 1280p is actually very good for a point-and-shoot digital camera of its time.

That’s a pretty nice camera, cool to see it also handles video well considering it’s not a dedicated camcorder. The quality holds up for its age, although it is strange that 640 mode has worse audio but it might be like that in an attempt to reduce the overall file size to be able to record more. Even if that’s the case, it would still be better to just use the HD mode and larger capacity SD cards are easier to get now.

that's not a bad camera at all. I would happily use this as a youtube camera back in the day. these days though I own a samsung phone with a ridiculously good camera so I could pass these days. If i was maybe poorer and didn't have a phone, I would absolutely not second guess using this camera. you got a deal!

Can I charge the camera without the battery charger?

I remember my dad was thinking about getting me one of these Fuji slip cover type cameras back in 2008 (because all MySpace and Facebook teenagers back then had fancy looking digital cameras), but I wanted a proper camcorder because at the time, I was wanting to record my Nintendo DS screen to post video game scores to KZbin (and camcorders at the time all did "good enough for KZbin" macro mode) so I ended up getting a Panasonic hard drive camera that I am almost certain was a Black Friday score that year because the rest of the parents in the extended family all got similar models (all Panasonics). Of course, being 13 at the time, I wasn't a parent, but my dad had no use for a camera like that so it ended up working out. I think the FujiFilm camera my dad was looking at was a much earlier model because its video mode maxed out at 640x480.

It's a decent camera that's still usable today, but the Sony Cybershot "T" series cameras are a lot better in the video quality and user interface department.

I kinda want to pick up one of those CyberShot cameras now. Not for any practical reason, but just because the design is so delightfully weird (and, "it's a Sony" 😂).

just got this camera used and i’m having a “card error” even though it’s a compatible sd card, any ideas?

If the card was previously used in something else, it may need to be formatted. Can you bypass the card error, get to the menu, and try formatting it that way?

@@stereophonicstuff yes i tried formatting it and the error still shows up, i also tried two other cards which also didn’t work

@@calicat1560 That’s bizarre. I’d suggest double checking the card is the right class, but you mentioned doing that already. The only other thing I could think of is an issue with the SD card slot, though that really isn’t all that common like it was with CF cards. Have you tried resetting the camera? Sorry I can’t be more useful, I’m stumped.
