Lyrics to Stereophonics song - Mr Writer from the album "Just Enough Education to Perform" Enjoy! You line 'em up, look at your shoes you hang names on your wall, then you shoot them all. You fly around in planes that bring you down To meet me, who loves you, let me crash into the ground Are you so lonely, you don't even know me Would you like to stone me? Mr. Writer... Why don't you tell it like it is Why don't you tell it like it really is Before you go on home I used to treat you right, give you my time But when I turn my back on you, then you do what you do You've just enough on my own view, education to perform I'd like to shoot you on And when you go home with you on your own What do you really do? Mr. Writer... Why don't you tell it like it is Why don't you tell it like it really is Before you go on home And when you go home with you on your own What do you even know? Mr. Writer... Why don't you tell it like it is Why don't you tell it like it really is Before you go on home Mr. Writer... Why don't you tell it like it really is Why don't you tell it like it always is Before you go on home Mr. Writer... I'll never forget the day I saw this music video and introduced myself to this band. I was living in Germany at the time and it was just before summer break; I was getting ready for school and turned the TV on just to see what was on and this music video happened to be on. I was cutting it close for time letting the music video finish but I just had to watch it in its entirety because it was such a wild music video with an even wilder sound I hadn't heard before as a young man. I rushed off to the bus stop afterwards, summer vacation began and this song haunted me for a long time before I finally got a hold of it myself and have been a fan ever since. I had to be about 16-17 years old, and I'm 32 today. This band, among many others, but this song especially, helped shape and sort out the strange melancholy feelings I'd had as a teenager. Yet every time I listen to this song I'm reminded of those strange, familiar feelings and sometimes miss it. I know the lyrics themselves have a meaning all its own, but listening to it is a time machine in itself for me, reminding me of the young man I used to be, and strangely remember.
